Mission:
From the Ashes
Location: USS Phoenix
Captain's Log
Stardate 87550.03
With the Phoenix ceremony looming in one week's time, this crew along with those temporarily assisting from the Lotus Starbase, are working at an accelerated pace to bring all systems to optimal levels. Lieutenant J.G. Decatur is about to initiate the first phase of her nanite operation and I have just received word from Fleet Captain Samji that our new Chief Operations Officer is en route to the Starbase.
According to her Starfleet records, she is a recent graduate of the Academy with a specialization in Operations. Interestingly, the name of this Klingon officer who was just promoted to the rank of Lieutenant J.G. is also Decatur. Therefore, there will now be two officers by the name of Lieutenant J.G. Decatur serving during this shakedown cruise.
According to the latest report from our Chief Medical Officer Doctor Nasaro-Myth, the crew's medical exams are proceeding accordingly.
However, with so many other systems having been modified and in an early implementation phase, it is probable that setbacks will arise. Our intention however is to expose these flaws in the various systems before our upcoming launch.
Having concluded his latest log entry, Syntron deactivated his computer terminal and consumed the remaining dregs of his spiced tea. He then departed out of his ready room and headed back to the center seat.
After gazing around the main bridge for a moment the Vulcan commanding officer swirled his position toward his executive officer and inquired "Anything new to report Commander Riker?"
As the Captain glanced over and addressed his first officer, Riker stood up from the leaning position he had taken talking to the ensign sitting the engineering station. Nodding in the affirmative Riker updated the Captain.
"Aye sir we do. Lieutenant B'Zinga Decatur reported aboard earlier sir and she is settling in to her quarters. She is scheduled to report for her first shift in the morning. Master Chief Eddington is finalizing the command alpha roster and our final shift report should be available as soon as he is done. Science and Engineering are reporting all station start up checks are on time. We are right on schedule sir."
"Excellent Commander Riker" Syntron acknowledge. "Forward these finalized shift schedules to our new COO Lieutenant B'Zinga Decatur, along with the current resource allocation requests. It is imperative that she becomes acclimated to this ship and her new position expeditiously. Assist her in any way you see fit or needed Commander. I will also drop by to visit her sometime tomorrow as well."
Nodding Riker responded.
"Aye Sir. With the fact that we are still pre commission we should be fine with a short growing period for her. As soon as I review the final reports they will be on your desk and I will let Lieutenant Decatur know to make time for you tomorrow."
Captain Syntron then turned his attention away from his executive officer as he engaged communications and hailed his chief engineer.
"Commander Rogers. How is the implementation of the nanite project proceeding from your engineering viewpoint?"
The Vulcan commanding officer could simply call up a display to see a status indicating where Lieutenant Decatur and her mixed team were currently operating in this procedure, but it would not provide him with the insight and analysis of his keenly observant chief engineer.
David crawled out from under the sensor console and, from a reclining position, answered the captain.
"Stage one completed Captain. We have opened up the lock outs to implement stage two. Estimate six to eight hours to completion of second stage. We're on schedule Sir."
As a rule Rogers, like most star fleet engineers, added a time margin to their estimate's in order to have a buffer zone. This was no different, and although Rogers was aware that most ship's captain's knew of this habit, David had added a couple hours just to be on the safe side. With a grunt, David returned to his position under the console to finish installing the nanite's from one of Decaturs' transport case's.
Syntron nodded affirmatively as he responded.
"Acknowledged Commander."
The captain then noted progress within each department mapped out graphically on his PADD. Afterward, he checked briefly on the latest report from each department. As he studied the data and contemplated their results, he turned his attention to his chief security and tactical officer.
"Lieutenant Commander Vincent, once you have your department secured and prepared for launch, have your team devise a series of tactical scenarios that we can test once we are out of range of the starbase. Perhaps not to the degree of a Kobayashi Maru, yet a series of challenging and unique situations to test and evaluate our crew in preparation for a variety of emergency-related circumstances. Once developed and in place, keep the plans secured until we have an opportunity to discuss an implementation procedure."
(space for Josh V. to respond)
Right after Vincent finished walked in Elliago Nasaro-Myth. the CMO was as handsome and charming and smiling as ever... yet there was some subtle, undefinable diffeence that immediately struck a few people already there. It was hard to pinpoint, there was definitely something different about him. Maybe it was his tone of voice because it sounded somewhat slightly more preoccupied or concerned than before.
"Well I got sickbay ready... and only that new Ops Chief is left to examin and we will all be ready for departure."
he then looked at Syntron and he sounded unusually serious.
"When you will have the time, Sir, I would like to speak with you in private. Nothing urgent, mind you... I can even do it in a mere entry onto your personal terminal if you prefer... but it need to be addressed at some point. "
And with that, he just took a seat to involve himself in any following discussion with his fellow officers.
As he considered the Deltan physician's request to converse, the Captain gazed around the bridge to swiftly assess the activity on the bridge. He silently noted the purposeful movements as his bridge officers were each individually engaged in their tasks. Recognizing the moment was available, he turned his attention back to the CMO as he began to rise from the center seat.
"The time is now Doctor Nasaro-Myth" he stated to the Deltan as he gestured his intension as he spoke. "The location will be my Ready Room. Please join me."
The captain then walked the few paces to the privacy of this designated room for this requested discussion. A few moments later as he sat behind his desk, he looked seriously at the doctor and stated unemotionally "You may begin when you are ready Doctor."
It took a moment for the Deltan doctor to start speaking. His face wasn't showing his usual debonnaire attitude. In fact, the ranked Lieutenant Commander stood at formal attention before the desk of his commanding officer and spoke with the perfunctory tone and inflexions expected of a Starfleet cadet.
"Captain Syntron, it has been brought to my attention that I have been unduly and without justification or cause trying to willfully manipulate others through the inconsidrate use of my natural pheromones. This has resulted in the psychological discomfort of some members of the crew, a situation that could have shown itself to be potentially detrimental to this ship, especially in a crisis situation. Furthermore, I confess that I have been doing this for many years, even well before and including the time we both served aboard the USS Artemis."
He stood even straighter when he finished.
"Captain Syntron Sir, I formally put myself on report for conduct unbecoming of a Starfleet officer."
This was a surprising twist; one which the Vulcan was not expecting.
In all of their time serving together, Syntron had never seen the Deltan physician exhibit such a melancholy appearance. To view this shift as merely uncharacteristic would be an understatement to the Deltan's usually radiant persona.
Whatever led the doctor to this point had affected him deeply.
The Captain began his response and dialogue cautiously.
"Acknowledged doctor. Would you perceive the use of these pheromones intent for that of personal gain?"
Elliago seemed genuinely surprised by the question.
"Of course not, Sir. Each time I used my natural abilities, it was to alleviate a tense situation with crewmates or help one or the other cope with stress or psychological discomfort. This is a standard practice among us, Deltans. "
He took a moment to gather his thoughts before continuing.
"In fact, this is what I got used to most of my llife. You know by my Starfleet record , Sir that I am the quintessential Starfleet brat; born and raised on a galaxy class starship captained by my mother and engineered by my father, then straight to the Academy with many compatriots, following my posting with Lotus Fleet and several ships before ending on this one. And through all this, I have of course been in constant contact and interaction with my own people. Deltans always come in groups to serve in Starfleet or anywhere else; we have to live in close community among us if we are but to stay sane among so many sensually immature species... no insult intended, Captain; just plain facts from our perspective. But this means that I failed to adapt fully to interaction with other species. What is deemed normal, even necessary among us may be detrimental to non-Deltans... and on a moral and ethical standpoint, cause for problems. "
Again he paused. Then he sighed and spoke again.
"I have been negligent as a CMO in this regard, Sir. On the Artemis, I myself discovered that my casual use of my pheromones had caused mild insanity in at least one officer; you remember Kelsey Alther? The Kathurian, as an androgyn, had no sex drive at all; exposure to my emanations created havoc with it's psyche, almost sending the poor security officer to a court martial because of it's chaotic, violent behavior... all because of my carelessness. And now, it has been brought to my attention that members of the crew are psychologically perturbed by that same carelessness on my part. "
He then stood again at full attention.
"The worst part, Captain, is that it had all been done willfully and knowingly and for a long time now. I wanted to influence others through my abilities and as such, without approval or consent from anyone, especially my commanding officers, including you, Sir. This behavior is as unacceptable as that of a telepath altering your mind without permission or an Orion tricking you with lies and tricks. Therefore, it is obvious that I should be submitting myself to disciplinary action, Sir. I shall present no defense or appeal or ask for counsel or legal proceedings. I am guilty and freely admit so. I await my deserved punishment."
For a Vulcan digesting the level and details of his CMO's confession, Syntron was as awestruck as possible for one of his species. He had worked side-by-side with the doctor and yet had no idea of any of this transpiring; other than the incident with the Kathurian Kelsey Alther.
He then stood up and looked directly into the eyes of the Deltan as he spoke.
"Though the actions you displayed during these incidents were clearly intended as part of a perceived treatment, they were as you noted, negligent in that you imposed these pheromones without consent or authorization."
After a reflective moment he added "This places us both in a rather precarious situation doctor."
As he placed he arms behind his back, Syntron pondered his options.
Then after a few seconds, the captain stated rather stoically.
"To avoid any further complications regarding this matter, Sickbay is now off-limits to you, as is interacting with any fellow crewmates in any type of medical capacity. In addition, I am confining you to your quarters until further notice. All of this doctor is under your own recognizance."
Under these circumstances, there was no cause for the captain to overreact and bring additional humiliation to the doctor with a security escort or being placed in the brig.
Syntron then added "Ultimately doctor, I will need to consult Starfleet on this matter to confer with their perspective and authority on how we will resolve this situation. From what I have noted, other than these incidents, your record in Star Fleet is exemplary."
The captain then supplemented his orders.
"Meanwhile, during your confinement, you are requested to provided a written summation of your actions as you have described them here by 1600 hours today. However, please note doctor, that any information that you volunteer in your statement will be used in the assessment of your situation and any subsequent consequences yet to be determined."
"Understood, Captain. As I stated, I will offer no defense... and I will show no resistance. I will return to my quarters and awaits your next orders there. But I will say this though; I truly am sorry. "
Syntron nodded respectfully to his CMO. "Acknowledged Doctor Nasaro-Myth. You are dismissed."
And with these words, he pivoted on his heels and moved out of the Captain's office and went straight to the turbolift, looking at no one until he got to his quarters a few decks below.
Only then did he dare to look at himself in the mirror.
"A fine mess you got me into. "
As the doctor walked out the Captain's Ready Room, the doors rapidly swooshed closed behind him. Syntron stood there for a few moments before he returned back to his seat. Now he would begin to compose a brief synopsis to Fleet Captain Samji. The Fleet Captain knew Doctor Nasaro-Myth quite well too and would most likely be a viable representative of the fleet to address this unusual situation.
Eighteen minutes later, the private message was forwarded to Captain Samji on a secure channel. For now, Syntron would proceed with his duties until Samji contacted him from the Starbase.
On Lotus Starbase the communication came through to Fleet Captain Samji who was in his office making preparations for the Phoenix dedication ceremony. With Rear Admiral Kotari having returned to Starfleet Headquarters, he would be the one to give the initial dedication speech and then introduce Captain Syntron as he did with Captain Kheren.
He read over the details and shook his head. One thing that he didn't need was another position to fill so close to the Phoenix launch. He was happy that the Doctor was so forthcoming...
"...but why did he have to wait until the last minute?" Samji wondered aloud.
"Doctor Michaels, I'd like to see you in my office, please," he said over the comms to Sickbay.
"Aye, Sir, be right there."
When the experienced Chief Medical Officer of Lotus Starbase, Doctor Hugh Michaels arrived, Samji greeted him and asked him to sit. He sat quietly, stroking his beard thoughtfully as he listened to the details of the confession of Doctor Nasaro-Myth. Both men seated there were good friends with the Deltan medical officer, so the conversation would be of both a professional and personal nature.
"I've never known him to be dishonest about his intentions," Michaels responded finally. "And it seemed like he only used the pheromones for good reasons... to help people. Is it not ultimately our duty as medical professionals to help people?"
"With the Azimuth Horizon and Lieutenant Commander Sorripto, I'm quite familiar with the topic of whether the ends justify the means, Doctor," Samji responded. "I am quite certain that they do not. Bottom line is that Elliago has used a method to influence people to gain an upper hand, even if it is for good reasons. And, in one case, it almost cost the sanity and professional position of a Starfleet Officer. We can't ignore that fact."
"But he was not aware of his influence at the time. It wasn't intentional," Dr. Michaels said in defense of his friend and colleague.
"Yes, but the cause was intentional, if not the effect."
"Granted. So was there anything else you wanted me here for? I can't make the decision for you, Sir."
"I know, Hugh," Samji replied. "I just needed to hear it from you too."
"What did you need to hear, Sir?"
"I needed to hear you say out loud what I was thinking, Doctor."
"Glad I could be of service, Sir."
Samji dismissed the doctor but not before asking, "There is a Deltan on your staff, isn't there?
"Aye Sir, one of the nurses, Petty Officer Olania."
With the name, Samji was able to recall the face. "That's right, please send her up."
The nervous Deltan non-com arrived and was greeted by Samji. He allowed her to take a seat and offered her a beverage in order to put her more at ease. She accepted a coffee, served by the Fleet Captain's yeoman, CPO Adria Benile, and when she seemed more at ease, he began his questioning.
"Petty Officer Olania, I want to assure you, there is no need to worry. You are not in any trouble. I need you to just answer the questions honestly, and then you will be free to leave."
She nodded.
"Nurse Olania, as a Deltan, is controlling your pheromones around non-Deltans something you are all taught to do?"
Olania shifted uncomfortably at the question. Coming from the Fleet Captain, such a personal question made her nervous again. "S-sir. Aye, Sir. Those of us who enter Starfleet are all taught to control them, as we know it could cause unnecessary discomfort."
"Is it something that is easy for you to do?" Samji queried, in a soft reassuring tone.
"I wouldn't say easy, necessarily. It's not a huge strain though, and we get used to it. It is made especially less difficult when other Deltans are aboard-ship."
"Would you ever consider using them if you knew it would actually alleviate a stressful situation?" Samji asked.
"I think it depends on the situation, Sir. Do you have a specific scenario in mind?"
He did, but he didn't want to imply who he was referring to, so he decided not to present it. "That is alright, nurse. I think that is all I need. Thank you, you are dismissed."
After he left, he returned to his desk to think for a while and finally said, "Computer, begin secure transmission to Captain Syntron."
"Captain," he began, "While it is your decision as Captain of the Phoenix to decide on whatever punishment is warranted, I will provide my professional recommendation. Doctor Elliago Nasaro-myth should be put on a thirty-day probationary suspension, but be allowed to serve out his duties. During this time any further disobedience or disregard for regulations should result in his immediate suspension, confinement to quarters, and removal of his rank pending a formal court martial. While his honesty is admirable, a purposeful and knowing mental or physical influence over other Starfleet Officers for any reason is a serious offense and needs to be treated as such. However, if he can show that he can operate professionally without any further incidents, I don't see why he cannot continue in his former position. I would also advise that you consult with the ship's Emergency Medical Hologram to see if there is anything you can set up within the computers of the Phoenix to monitor pheromone levels. Any knowledge of this monitoring system should be restricted to yourself and the EMH. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Samji out."
As Captain Syntron was working diligently at his computer terminal, a message signaled from the Lotus Starbase in which his ship was still confined within. He noted from the security protocols that it was a reply from the starbase fleet captain. He engaged the message and listened attentively to the specific phrasing and recommendations of fleet captain Samji.
Moments later Syntron contacted Doctor Elliago Nasaro-Myth who was stationed in his quarters where he was temporarily confined by the captain himself following the doctor's confession.
"Doctor Nasaro-Myth, please join me in my Ready Room" the captain commanded without emotion or a sense of urgency.
The Vulcan then continued with his preparations for the upcoming official launching ceremony occurring just prior to the actual physical launching of the new Avenger-Class Starcruiser starship. This was taking place on the heels of the launching of the fleet flagship the USS Horizon just a week prior to their event. In addition, Syntron was overseeing the details of preparations from his first officer regarding the progress of each department while adding notes for his executive officer to follow-up on. Their intent was to launch without unresolved conditions anywhere on the ship. They would most likely have their hands full in a variety of unexpected capacities once they began to engage all of these systems simultaneously in their initial shakedown cruise; they certainly did not need to compound these issues exponentially.
At that moment, the door chimed and then slid open to show the Deltan Doctor in the doorway.
"Reporting as ordered, Captain," he simply said, his smile warm but very reserved.
"Please be seated Doctor" the captain stated as he gestured the Deltan toward the seat placed before him.
"Would you care for a beverage Doctor?" the captain then asked, as he tried to make the situation and the environment a bit more hospitable for the doctor before he proceeded. Unusual behavior it would seem for a typical Vulcan, but Syntron was striving to implement subtle types of conventions and decorum into interactions with his crew to improve overall morale and efficiency. He had not only read about this approach, but saw its impact first-hand throughout his involvement with Starfleet; despite the illogic nature he first perceived of such superfluous exchanges.
"Thank you, Captain. Chilled Altair water will be fine. "
In truth, Elliago,s throat was parched and constricted and he really needed something to drink. But this was official business and anything stronger would have been improper; and he didn't feel like anything with a taste would stay in his stomach for long.
Once the profered beverage was replicated, he went to the seat before the captain's desk and took but one sip.
As expected of a Vulcan, Syntron then directly addressed the purpose of summoning the Deltan physician.
"I just received a communiqué from Fleet Captain Samji. As it turns out, our thoughts on the matter of your transgressions are in synch. Because of the impact of your previous situation with the former CSTO Lieutenant-Commander Kelsey Alther of our preceding ship the Artemis coupled with your deliberate intention to influence others through your abilities without approval or consent on the Artemis and here on the Phoenix, you are hereby officially notified that effective this stardate, you are now placed on a thirty-day probationary status. Any further disobedience or disregard for regulations, willfully and knowingly in this manner will result in your immediate suspension, an ongoing confinement to your quarters, and removal of your rank pending a formal court martial."
This statement lingered eerily in the air for a moment before the captain of the Phoenix continued with his proclamations.
"Although we also hold into account your stellar record throughout your service in Starfleet, you know all too well that your good intentions do not justify the means in which to implement them. Therefore, at this juncture Doctor, you are ordered to resume your duties following this meeting and your regularly scheduled shift. However doctor, I am also requiring you to work into your off-duty schedule a time to meet with your fellow Deltan Lieutenant Celestine Bijoŭ; our ships chief counselor, in an official capacity three times a week during this probationary period to discuss and work through this situation accordingly with her. In addition, I would like you to work with the EMH to develop a method to detect and measure pheromone levels throughout the ship. With multiple Deltans serving aboard this ship and a new Orion COO aboard the Horizon, this could be a useful device to avoid such situations in the future."
"Understood, Sir. "
There was nothing more to say. He had been at fault, he had admitted it freely and now he had to make amends and prove himself worthy of the trust he had so carelessly endangered. The captain was absolutely right; the ends never justified the means, ignorance, negligence and carelessness were no excuse and what he had done was unworthy of the uniform he was wearing, let alone the reponsibilities he had been given.
He took another sip then stood up.
"With your permission, Captain, I will at once confer with Doctor Gray about the pheromone problem and make an appointment with the Chief Counselor for the nearest available opportunity."
As the Vulcan captain stood to face his CMO, he gazed intently at the Deltan. Syntron could sense the integrity from within the doctor conflicting with a veneer of humiliation that that shrouded the Deltan's aura since the recognition of these incidents occurred and was declared.
"Acknowledged Doctor Nasaro Myth. But before you are dismissed, consider this. Throughout this process of working with the EMH and the chief counselor, you need to also begin to let go of the negative associations you have attached to these transgressions, and as the humans might say...forgive yourself. This is not to imply that you forget what has occurred, but unless you forgive the situations and recognize that these circumstances are now over and that you are actively working to prevent such incidences in the future, you may not be able to effectively move forward and fulfill your medical obligations to the level of which you are capable."
The captain allowed a moment for his message to be assimilated before he concluded.
"You are my Chief Medical Officer Elliago... I need you functioning at your highest capacity as such aboard this vessel."
Then after a slight paused, he added "You are dismissed Doctor."
" Aye, Sir. A second chance is always a privilege and I will not take it lightly. You will get nothing but my best, Captain. "
And without further word, he left the captain's office to go straight to his assigned responsibilities.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rogers moodily prowled the ship.
As was his usual routine, David wandered the ship prior to launch. Not because he was looking for shoddy work or company, but because this type of inspection was a requirement to his methodology. As he moved from deck to deck, compartment to compartment, David kept a running list addendum within his mind on where he had gone and what had been worked on or inspected. Once an area was toured, David dismissed the location from his mental list and started anew in the next area. This elimination procedure accomplished two things for the chief engineer. First, it reinforced his check off list of all systems as being ready for launch. And secondly, it sometimes, all-be-it rarely, brought to light a detail or problem that would have to be taken care of before he would okay his ship for launch. One such small detail emerged on his prowl tonight, less than a week before launch.
Deck twenty five was, because of it's location at the keel of the Phoenix, one of the less traveled and mostly avoided part of the ship. Here was found cargo bay four, the secondary shield generators, tractor beam assemblies and an often less thought of waste recycling. Anti-matter waste, the byproduct of the M/ARA system, was sent here for recycling. Theta radiation was absorbed from the waste for recycling and it's recovered energy was routed back into the ship's various systems; mostly life support and replicators. Down here, the high pitched whine of the transkinetic chamber indicated was not performing properly.
David inspected the radiometric converter first to ascertain it's proper functionality and determined that it was excessively feeding theta radiation to the transkinetic chamber, thus making the chamber over work itself while breaking down the residual antimatter at it's subatomic level. Rogers accessed the controls on the converter assembly and tweaked the in-feed flow rate to the chamber. Slowly, increment by increment, the transkinectic chamber's whine dropped minute by minute, and eventually the low hum of operation sounded soothingly through the room.
Checking the diagnostic system, David noted the five percent increase in reclaimed power being routed to the replicator systems, and uttered a small, self-satisfied grunt. Noting the diagnostic log for reference, David moved on toward the beam assemblies and then, noting their perfect condition, moved out into cargo bay four to wander around there a bit, noting subconsciously all he saw. Outwardly, should anyone happen to notice the prowling hybrid officer, they would likely assume he was just wandering about aimlessly.

It took a while for B’Zinga Decatur to finally get her room to the way she wanted it - she had been been so eager to leave the USS T’Kurin that she merely threw everything she owned in to several suitcases - but she managed to not only unpack but also decorate her room. Everything seemed to be in an appropriate place - which was quite an accomplishment for her. In the Academy, she had a reputation for having a room that seemed like a tornado blew through it. Jocelyn tried his best to help her with being organized, but it never worked out.
As she walked through her living quarters, she glanced longingly at her empty bed. The only thing she missed about the horrible experience on the T’Kurin was being able to serve with her husband. B’Zinga made sure to place a picture of Jocelyn and the red rose on her bedside stand, but it was not the same.

Stephanie entered Commander Rodgers office looking quite physically exhausted. It would be immediately apparent that she had pulled another all-nighter and kept going in the morning. For her part though, her uniform was still immaculate. It no doubt caused some to wonder how she maintained such an outward demeanor after repeatedly pulling double or triple shifts without any R&R beyond a few hours of sleep.
Stephanie handed a pad, her formal report, to the Commander as she stood at attention. “Sir, the Nanites are installed and functioning within specified parameters. All tests show that they are ready to be activated to relieve the backup ODN and start routing data through the BNDN.” She waited a moment as he glanced over the pad before speaking again, “With permission, sir, I promised Doctor Grey that I would get some rest now”
Looking at her David could see the young woman was almost off her feet, so he merely nodded an acceptance in response and made a small shoo gesture with his empty left hand.
She waited for his response before turning on her heel in an about-face that would make a marine proud and made her way to the quarters that had been assigned to her by the Ops department earlier. She had only been in them for a few hours during the past few days, and intended to enjoy some quite time alone and out of uniform.
Rogers quietly contemplated the PADD laying before him on his desk. Shift change had recently taken place and Gamma shift was unobtrusively going about their late shift duties. As the Phoenix was still docked to the massive station, their duties primarily consisted of monitoring the lightly fluctuating power usage levels of the ship, and running routine tasks upon various equipment and consoles as diagnostic schedules arrived. With small gesture, David saved the PADD's contents and then flagged the information to send to the XO and Captain. He was slightly tired, having walked the entire ship in the previous six hours, but all throughout the ship there was a green mark in his personal list. Everything was ready. This great bird. This Phoenix, was ready to fly.
The content of the PADD whisked off to the terminal in his desk and, seconds faster then previously heard of within Star Fleet ships, was in the possession of both Captain Syntron and Commander Riker. The nanite infusion within the Phoenix's ODN relays was that much faster now that they were performing their magic.

Holy! Nice plot twist Doctor! :)
By Stephanie Decatur on 06/18/2013 @ 5:38pm
Aye, handled amazingly Doc! Stephanie would never imagine that the EMH would confront the doctor and even more so that the CMO would report himself like that. As she stated, wasn't her goal to get anyone in trouble. She'd feel terrible if she ever found out :P
By Kheren on 06/19/2013 @ 3:42am
Oh she will find out (as everyone else) because this is no secret;it is important that all Starfleet personnel know about all this (except your direct involvement which is irrelevant as far as your personal identity goes) for the sake of discipline.
She should in fact start herself to realize from all this what it truly means to be a Starfleet officer; that both the EMH and especially Elliago are showing themselves as prime examples of what it means: truth, honor and responsibility.
And most of all, she should realize that Elliago and all Deltans are not quite the bad persons she thought they all were. ;)
By Stephanie Decatur on 06/19/2013 @ 5:14pm
My thoughts exactly :)
