Personal History |

Josiah had an unremarkable childhood. He went to school, had friends, and occasionally got into trouble. At night, when the lights were off, he'd lay on his back outside, and stare at the stars.
He learned to ride horses, shoot ancient Earth pistols and rifles, and even lasso a little while he was still in his single digits. By the time he was 15, he had mastered the art of the fast draw. By the time he was 18 he added gun spinning, and trick shots to his repertoire.
He decided to join Starfleet to impress a girl. She liked doctors. He wanted her to like him. When she ended it his third year in the Academy, he didn't take it well.
He pressed on, and finished the Academy with decent marks. He's hoping to find a command in need of a medical officer soon.
Personal Note: Only his family calls him "Joe." He will respond to Dr. Sage, Sage, "Doc", or even Josiah, but those outside of his family who call him "Joe" are guilty of outrageous impertinence.

A broken collar bone when thrown from a horse. He was 16 years old.
Psychological Profile: Josiah Sage is a fairly well-balanced person. He's generally accepting of others. He's very easy-going with members of the opposite sex, but he tends to be leery of close relationships with them. However, he loves his family, especially his sisters. He's very close to Abigail.
He's a quick study, and just as quick to act. He's not the best at patience, and can make rash decisions. He has a rapier wit, and an even sharper tongue. He's full of humor and may be up to the occasional goodhearted prank. He's loyal and giving to those he trusts. He's distant from those he doesn't. His convictions are strong: if he believes in something, he'll sacrifice everything for it.
He won't talk about himself. Ever. He will want to know everything he can about his patients.
He likes practicing medicine, but when he thinks of the girl who broke his heart, he resents it. He won't walk away from it though: it would be too much like admitting defeat. |
