Ensign Julie Morcef

 Julie is of average height and build, she is raven-haired with hazel eyes that seem to range from green to brown depending on the light. Her hair is usually up in a bun, when she lets it down it is long enough to stretch to between her shoulder-blades. It seems to compliment her paler-than-usual complexion and spotted freckles.

Julie was born in the small town of Le Palais on Belle Ile, off the western coast of France. She was practically raised on the island, counting the number of times she left the island through high school on one hand. She would lay awake nights on the roof of her parents home staring up at the sky. Occasionally, on a clear night she would catch glimpses of the starbase orbiting earth streaking through the sky, or better yet, the subtle flash of a ship going to warp near earth. She dreamed every night of being in space…of seeing the stars up close.

She spent every day working hard to achieve her dreams, and was elated when she was accepted into Starfleet Academy. She worked doubly-hard to stay there, graduating in the middle of her class, but she graduated none-the-less.

The Phoenix is her first assignment off a starbase, and it is something she fought tooth and nail for, for although she acts mature and professional all the time, she still has the heart of the little girl who dreamed about being close enough to touch a star.

When asked, she will tell you her biggest challenge in life is her humble beginnings. She had learned English as a child, but hadn’t been able to practice it very much until she actually attended the Academy; she still speaks with a French accent, though it’s not too thick to understand.
