Born to a long line of a family residing in Edinburgh for more than two hundred years, Ashlyn takes after her mother in her desire to see new things and go new places. The last seven generations of men in her family, including her father Clyde Scott, have all served distinguished careers in local law-enforcement on the isle of Great Britain on Earth. Her mother, Elizabeth Scott, chose a career as a Starfleet officer, and is currently at the rank of Commander, posted as Executive Officer aboard a cruiser. Ashlyn's older brother, Daniel Scott, is following in his father's footsteps and joining the local police force. She has one younger sister, who is living out her adolescence, as she and her brother did, between the Starship her mother serves on and the family home in Edinburgh.
