Father was a starship engineer in Starfleet for several years before marrying and then becoming a civilian one for 37 years before retiring. Mother was a fashion designer before marrying and then became a full time child care specialist. Brother Daniel is a moderately well known musical composer within the Federation, specializing in Andorian blues; brother Michael is a Starfleet officer, currently an Ops Lieutenant Commander on the Quebec I outpost bording the Neutral Zone; sister Crystal is a natural sciences teacher at Starfleet Academy; brother Denis is a starship engineer at Utopia Planitia Fleetyards.

A quiet, soft-spoken, private and unassuming man yet with a definite commanding presence and sparkling personality capable of showing bewildering innovation hiding behind apparent conformism.

He is quite at ease in a subservient role of  a NonCom although he has all the qualities that could have made him even an excellent starship captain; but he lacks ambition beyond being a helpful contributor to life. He is highly educated, especially in social sciences, has absolutely no religious mindset (even resent such when too insistent), no political affiliation (except wholeheartedly beleiving in Federation values) and no materialistic attachment. His greatest assets are his eidetic memory and his uncanny ability to decipher almost any language almost instantly, like a living Universal translator. He currently speak twenty languages fluently, including Andorian even while able to manage the ultrasonic sounds of the language no better than any Human can.

He is remakable in his apparent utter lack of ambition. he seems quite content with life and to contribute positively in whatever task comes before him. He does show however a keen intellectual curiosity towards a vast array of things. He recently started writing classes with the hope of becoming a novelist and holostoryteller.

An artist by temperament, a scientist by choice and a teacher at heart, he has a bewildering array of interests ranging from theoretical physics to martial arts training, from exobiology to holonovelizing, from archeology to music. He is a diletante but with a remakably focused and quick-grasping mind making him nevertheless able to carry on a well-informed and thought out conversation even with true specialists of many fields.

University graduate in linguistics on Earth, he was introduced to martial Arts during his teen and trained with the same passion as he studied everything that caught his interest, achieving master level in several of them, which in turn allowed him to literally reconstruct and ressuscitate the 20th century concept of Jeet Kune Do. For over thirty years he taught martial arts at Starfleet Academy, then abruptly terminated his teachings when he discovered section 31 had him teaching his art to their agents; something he refused adamantly to do, deeply loathing their views and methods once he became aware of them. To stave off their demands, he enrolled in Starfleet as a non-com officer and offered his linguistics talents to the Science Division. He graduated with the Highest Honors, top of his class in his field and was fast promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer and selected by the elite division of Starfleet to serve on board the latest Lotus Fleet ship, the USS Artemis. Captain Kheren quickly became aware of the hidden qualities of this mild-mannered, easy-going yet forceful man and asked him to serve as Chief of the Boat of the Artemis and afterwards of the Lotus Fleet flagship Horizon

Suffers from acute allergies to pollen and dust and an anormally high level of body acid; had his right knee dislocated twice and his right hand broken thrice, all fully mended. Wears retina 12 to compensate for his genetically impaired vision. Abnormally acute sense of hearing and touch.

- Starbase 10: Ops department, worker in cargobay 1 (this curious assignment was at his request as he wanted to meet as many aliens as possible, civilians as well as Starfleet, to hone his language skills rapidly. It is this unorthodox and humble dedication to duty despite a definite commanding presence that got him noticed by Captain Kheren meeting him there the day of his tranfer from the USS Lotus; and who then requested his assignment on his ship)

He is a childhood friend of Security officer Germain De Paul with whom he regularly train in the terran martial art of  Taekwon-Do. Has a secret crush on security officier Carmilla Julian but considers himself to old and unremarkable for her.
