Captain Oseno Jureth

Jureth is on the tall side for a Bajoran, and has the strength and conditioning typical of a trained security officer. He maintains this with extensive martial arts workouts varying from Klingon Mokbara to Earth Jujitsu. There used to be a prominent scar under his left eye, but after Operation Horizon Jureth had the scar treated and regenerated by Starbase Ten medical personnel.

Jureth's family is 100% Bajoran. His parents both survived the Cardassian occupation of Bajor and both joined Starfleet in the same Academy Class. Both Carrath and Mira were posted to USS Copernicus where they served in engineering and operations respectively. They were married on the Copernicus and when her pregnancy was nearly full term Mira transferred to Deep Space Nine. Shortly after that the USS Copernicus was ambushed and destroyed by Jem'Hadar remnant vessels with the loss of all hands. After the death of her husband Mira Oseno resigned from Starfleet and took her young son to Bajor and her family. She raised her son on world and kept the truth of his father's fate from him until she was nearly 16 standard years old. Upon learning the truth of his father's death Jureth developed an intense hatred of the Jem'Hadar and the Dominion. He also vowed to follow his father into Starfleet academy which he would do over his mother's pointed objections.

Jureth is shares the common traits of the Bajoran people in that he is headstrong and stubborn. He is dedicated to Starfleet and to the Federation despite the fact that it was serving in Starfleet that got his father killed.

Strengths: Determination, loyalty, very real sense of responsibility that comes from being a security officer. Weaknesses: Stubborn, and has a temper that can flare and do more harm than good.

Jureth only wants to make his mother proud, and be the best security officer in Starfleet. He also wants his people to be the best trained security officers in Starfleet. It is evident in the way he trains them.

Jureth joined Starfleet Academy as soon as he could, entering on his second entrance exam attempt under the supervision of Colonel Nerys on Deep Space Nine. At the academy Jureth's dedication was noted early, but he also showed a somewhat quick temper which his instructors constantly admonished him for. Jureth graduated from the Starfleet Academy's tactical/security program with a degree in starship tactics in 2406 and was posted to the Nebula Class USS Cortez as a security squad leader and assistant chief of security. In one noted incident while the Cortez was taking a brief respite on Risa Jureth's temper would show up again when he engaged in a brawl with a member of a Cardassian freighter crew. The result was a scar under his left eye from the Cardassian's blade and a formal reprimand from the captain of the Cortez. After the destruction of the Borg with the Cortez scheduled for decommissioning Jureth's former CO advised him to try to join Lotus Fleet as it was one of the most prestigious postings available in Starfleet.

Jureth was accepted to Lotus Fleet and posted to the fleet's flagship the USS Lotus as the Chief of Tactical/Security. While aboard the Lotus he assisted Captain Gould in the rescue of Starfleet Personnel and several civillians along with turning back a rooted Klingon presence.

After the Lotus was drydocked for repairs Jureth was transferred to the USS Alsea where he served under Captain Kalten Siduri, and served with distinction during the ship's encounter with a Klingon battlegroup. Jureth remained on the Alsea during Operation Horizon eventually becoming the ship's commander when Captain Rachelle Rivers was incapacitated during a pitched battle with a Romulan battle group. Jureth with assistance from USS Spectre, and the Aegis bridge module of the destroyed starship USS Artemis held of an Undine vessel and then rescued the same vessel from the Azimuth Horizon anomaly causing the Undine to refine their view of the Federation.

Jureth is currently serving under Captain Kheren aboard the Lotus Class USS Horizon.

USS Cortez NCC-9827 Assistant Chief of Security/security watch commander.

USS Lotus: Chief of Tactical/Security

USS Alsea: Chief of Tactical/Security Field Promotion to Captain of USS Alsea from Fleet Captain Samji effective Stardate 87174.4. Field promotion ended upon conclusion of Operation Horizon.

USS Horizon: Assigned as Chief of Strategic Operations and Second Officer.

Even when this situation seems hopeless...never give up.

Kobayashi Maru result: Jureth completed the Kobayashi Maru in command of the Akira Class starship USS Mars. While escorting a medical convoy the Mars received a Starfleet distress signal. Not wanting to leave the convoy unprotected Jureth ordered a shuttle to investigate the distress signal. The shuttle was promptly ambushed and the Mars responded finding only debris when arriving on the scene. The ship was attacked by the a Jem'Hadar attack ship and engaged the enemy until the Mars lost contact with her convoy at which point she returned to the convoy's position only to find it under attack by the Jem'Hadar. Jureth and the Mars engaged the Jem'Hadar in a futile battle finally mananging to rescue only a few members of the remaining convoy ship's crew. Jureth ordered his ship to flee the engagement, but the Mars' warp drive was damaged in the battle and soon Jureth had no choice to but to turn and engage the Jem'Hadar. The Mars, heavily damaged reengaged her attackers only to be rammed in a suicide attack by the first Jem'Hadar vessel she encountered.
