Foundry Help
Anyone here that can help me learn how to make foundry missions? Every guide Ive looked at has a certain amount of assumed knowledge I just dont have.

Re: Foundry Help
I personally have not attempted the foundry myself though I've considered it. I think perhaps Admiral Evshell might have or possibly Admiral Crist, but I'm not certain.

Re: Foundry Help
I worked with the Foundry for several months after it came out.
At the time, it was not intuitive at all to use and rather hard and long to produce anything significant until you got the hang of it. The main problem was that you don't really see what you are doing and the translation from the building interface with the actual gaming view is quite imprecise. Choices were also surprisingly limited despite the long lists of elements offered.
I know they modified and added many things since then, so I guess I should go back there and look it up again; especially that I do plan to make missions based on our RP stories.
I have played a good number of player-made scenarios and many of them are simply brilliant and magnificent to behold, truly enjoyable and more Trek than most of what you see coming out from Cryptic. So there is indeed here an effective working tool, but you have to give it the time and work needed to make it work well.

Re: Foundry Help
I figure I can use it as an outlet for my need to rp. But I cant get a mission to start at all.

Re: Foundry Help
Not sure what you are implying.
Do you mean you can't select one from the communiy authored list in-game? That would be a bug.
Or do you mean in the Foundry? You don't play in th Foundry; you can only build a mission . Although you cand "play" the parts you are built as you build them, or once it is completed and published (which takes some time because Cryptic review it before releasing it in the game).

Re: Foundry Help
I took it to mean that once she built one, she couldn't get it to start in order to test it.
One thing to check for Hera is that you have to have all the "errors" cleared before it will be playable. I haven't done it in a while (pretty much since it was originally implemented like Kheren), so I'll have to look into it again, but basically there should be a place where issues are listed as you're building it, and the only way to start it is to resolve them all.
[Edit] Upon closer inspection, it looks like it is called "Tasks" and is listed in the bottom left. It won't let you pick "Save & Publish" until you have all the tasks listed done.

Re: Foundry Help
I finally found a video by Fatkirk (Goddess how I hate that name) that answered my questions.

My trouble was with setting up the door / contact to start the mission. Somethign so basic that its not mentioned in the other resources I read through for beginners.
Klingon Skirmish should be live to play
