Who knows if this all goes through.... but PLEASE.... just get the franchise out of the grips of those who have damaged its legacy and instead, place the franchise into the hands of those who embrace what it represents and want to bring quality, great storylines, engaging character interactions, etc... back into the world of Star Trek.
Maybe even introduce the original philosophy and optimism to a new generation. We could certainly use hope in these troubled times!

Re: Star Trek may be sold to new Owners???
It is confirmed Paramount was bought by Skydance.
Unfortunately, they work often in partnership with Bad Robot. The only Star Trek they ever knew was that of Abrams. A ''reboot'' if ever there is one might not go beyond the 2009 movie... and with the same people.
At this point, my hopes are not high.

While I hardly think new leadership could do worse than Discovery, at this point I am more excited when news trickles out about more Orville than more Star Trek.

Agreed on that. As for new leadership, that remains to be seen. They had new leadership at Paramount a few years back and Star Trek was allegedly on top of their list to rework. Nothing at all came out of it as Kurtzman was still in control. Under Skydance, we can expect the same. Unless they cleanhouse. But Bad Robot is their main partner... and still has that licence for alternate Trek.
With the demise of Dr Who and Star Wars, the Orville might indeed be the only good sci-fi left. The Dune franchise is soaring but it will never be as mainstream as those. If Only John Carter had not been made by Disney to deliberately flop... There are rumors of a sequel but...

Well they now announced the 3rd season of Boring Old Worlds, Section 31 the movie... and a Star Trek comedy. All under Kurtzman and writers who proudly declare they want to change Star Trek into their own image.
So much for new ownership saving the day

That's what Star Wars fans said as well... and then came... The Acolyte.
But by then, we already had 3 seasons of Star Trek Pukehard...
