3D video model of the original USS Enterprise NCC-1701

For those that grew up enjoying the original series or those that discovered it in syndication, this is quite the treat: an opportunity to see an animated deck-by-deck visual layout of the Enterprise.

This 3D animation was created using Franz Joseph's detailed schematics of the Enterprise from the 1970's as a reference.

Here is another video available. Some of the information is repeated, like providing scale references.

That is incredible with all the little details. I can't quite get past how he says seventeen o' one instead of one seven o' one, but not enough to take away from how detailed all that stuff is.

To chime in… I’ve always identified the Enterprise as NCC seventeen oh one (17 01) as well. Fascinating! Lol ;-)

In all my years in the Navy we always said each number individually, and I am fairly confident that is how they said it in the show too. I am shocked, and honestly quite amused if I have been wrong for nearly 40 years, that saying NCC one seven o' one is not the norm.

Agreed Sorripto. I have no recollection of any instance ever of any canon-saying other than N-C-C-1-7-0-1, even with bloody A, B, C or D

I can tell you that it's the same thing in the Canadian Navy, according to my late father (who was a huge Star Trek fan). And I have friends in police forces that can confirm they always say each letter (ususally as a name like Norman-Charlie-Charlie) then each number individually, never bunched up as it could bring confusion if comm is not 5/5 (seventeen could sound like seventy for example).

Apparently this has been a discussion for quite some time now.
Here's an example: https://www.reddit.com/r/startrek/comments/43tpns/sort_of_a_poll_do_you_say_onesevenohone_or/

There isn't even full agreement on the end: Oh one or zero one  ;-)
