The best timing IMO would be after the takeover of the Achilles and before the operation against the planet-killers.

Captain Redding would then find himself coming out of the galactic barrier facing not one but TWO renegade warships AND an alien intruder! Not to mention the three planet-killers incoming!

He certainly then would not come in guns blazing (not his style anyway) but instead realize something much more complicated than expected is going on.

So we proceed on to rendezvous with the trifecta of doomsday devices?

Not sure what is happening with the Horizon or its captain or how to push the story along from the gamma vector.

BLZBUB gave us a good in-story reason to continue as we are for the moment.

Whichh is; the Horizon did not transwarp through the barrier, therefore it's crew is disabled and the ship running on pre-programmed functions (including the launch of the Polaris and their pursuing maneuver.)

Hopefully this will give some time for Redding to join.

If everyone agrees, we will run this with the Horizon as a ''sword of Damocles'' story trope for the moment.
