A perfect ending for the original 5 year mission and leading to STTMP. STC ended in a blaze of glory.
It is so unfortunate that CBS killed such efforts with it's asinine guidelines in a fultile attempt to protect Kurtzmantrek. This is the true Star Trek, the quality storytelling and filmaking that we have been deprived of since 2005, thanks to Les ''I-Hate-Sci-Fi'' Moonves, J. J ''I-never-understood-Star-Trek'' Abrams and Alex ''I-never-like-Star-Trek'' Kurtzman.
Fortnately, true fans are still out there. As stunted as they are forced to be, fans productions are now outclassing the official Trek in every way. The Orville is a smash hit; and Axanar is coming by the end of the year.
Star Trek lives.
