With the  - alleged - official launch of the third and  - apparently - final season of DISC, let's have a little fun shall we?

Here is Captain Picard (the real one) finding about the - ahem - secret of the USS Discovery:

Lower Decks premiered yesterday.

Anyone took notice? Well maybe in the US behind a paywall and in Canada through cable TV, because in 2 years since it was first pitched to Netflix ( who said no thank you) and Amazon Prime (who said no thank you), and a day after it's premiere, there is still no international distribution (unless you take to the High Seas).

I live in Canada so I could watch it essentially for free. What did I think of it?

Short answer; I'm not going to waste anymore time left in my life with it.

Long answer; you thought DISC was anti-Trek, full of despicable characters? You thought Picard was an asinine mockery of TNG? You thought both disregarded canon and the very essence of Trek? Imagine all of this together, doubling as a badly drawn, poorly animated comedy cartoon with absolutely no jokes at all.

Case in point, in this new Kurtzmantrek series:

- Everyone in Starfleet is a moron (that is without fail every single character seen) and totally cliche and uninteresting (so much I can not recall even a single character name).

- Starfleet works like a shoddy corporation instead of a military/scientific organization (i.e. the admiral forces his idiotic drunkard and abusive daughter onto his captain wife)

- Life is meaningless and violence and murder is glorified (i.e. under heroic music, they unhesitantly disintegrate infected colleagues they know they have a cure for)

- Canon is just for fanbait (i.e. cringy listing of quips from classic Trek at the end while having on board an... Orion female officer... with green hair... drinking blue-tinged Romulan whisky)

- As for jokes... In the opening credits, you see the ship about to engage the Borg witn an armada of D'Dridex (yeah...) then veers off and flees. This is the one and only time I almost, almost smiled... until a second later, I realized that in a nutshell it encapsulated everything listed above.

And to top it off, this is obviously an akward, inept attempt to latch onto The Orville's thunder by the tail:

- Space comedy show; check.
- Misfits characters in ridiculous situations; check
- Portraying the less than stellar members of the space force; check
- Have a relative forced onto the captain; check
- Feature a lesser ship in lesser missions; check
- Get the ship's name from a Californian town name; check

Not to mention that the identity politics and SJW agenda is still in full swing:

- Captain is a female of color.
- Main ''best'' character is a female of color.
- Secondary central characters are either female, of a visible minority or both or aliens to portray all of it.
- The butt of all jokes is a straight white male.
- All straight white males are idiots and/or incompetents.
- All females are ''stunning and brave;''either heroic, quick-witted or both.
- People killed (without remorse) are all white and most of them white male.
- Attitudes, behavior and dialog are still very 21st century America.

So if you hoped to have something like TAS with the Trek-style humor of Trouble With Tribbles or even as lowbrow as Loxana Troi... or even a quality spoof like The Orville... this is not it.

This is not for children; gore and violence with sexual inuendos throughout. This is not for adults; too low in quality and childish poo-poo humor falling flat. This is another Kurtzmantrek show; a so-called Star Trek show by people who do not care or know about Star Trek and made for people who do not like and do not watch Star Trek.

Anyone wants to offer another perspective and/or even cover this episode by episode, please do so.

I won't.

DISC season 3's premiere is scheduled next; THAT will be my next torture session.

For those who still doubt how disastrous Picard was and how Kurtzmantrek fails to deliver, there are some numbers finally available... not from CBS of course which hides them in shame behind their paywall membership shenanigans (i.e. even if you unsubscribed from their service, they still count you as a subscription for viewership purposes).

Agreeing or not with the discussion from this youtuber, just look at the articles, figures and charts she brings up and make your own conclusions.

L
ook at the graphics of Google trends dropping like the proverbial ton of bricks right after the first episode. As my very first critical review on the show gave away, I for one was part of that nose dive.

Had it not been for me wanting to give it all chances possible and reviewing it fully and fairly, the first episode would have been my last. It certainly is the case now with Lower Decks... As for the (finally!) final season of DISC, we shall see...

Surely, money will talk. The people at CBS will have to yank back Star Trek from these incompetent hacks and work hard to find their own Marc Favreau to finally bring Star Trek back; Seth McFarlane (The Orville), Vic Mignona (Star Trek Continues), James Cawley (Star Trek Phase II), Alec Peters (Axanar)... even Rick Berman is still out there.

Hope is still out there. May those interesting times come to pass as soon as possible. It's already starting at DC, Warner, Disney...

More rants about the ruining of Trek as a result of the incompetent Kurtsman (and Ambrams of course)

Warning, you'll have to look at a weird masked individual (Overlord DVD) do the ranting throughout the 12.5 minute video.

The comments that follow the video continue to echo the disappointment, frustration and resentment felt by Trek fans witnessing an ongoing ruining of a franchise they adored.

Doomcock is possibly the most well connected inside Secret Hideout. He was even singled out by Kurtzman himself for being the most annoying of his critics. Kurtzman even at some point tried to discredit him by implementing false rumors, then to find out his informants by spreading selective rumors throughout his staff.

Yeah Doomcock really gets under his skin. But the man is thorough and prudent. He's well respected by all other major critics of woke Hollywood like Midnight's Edge and Nerdrotic. Not a surprise that there's a hashtag ''Doomcock was right'' circulating on social media about his predictions of failure of Star Wars and Picard lol!

Doomcock is also quite amusing and entertaining with his rhetoric and nicknames. A good one to follow although his tendency to think himself a singer IS annoying. But that can be skipped easily. Enjoy his rants. I certainly do.

EDIT: and to make the point, here is his video for today in celebration of (American) Star Trek day.

Speaking of what a good parody should be, look at this one about Axanar made by the Axanar team itself:

THIS is how you make a Star Trek parody when you want to be funny and relevant and still respect the source material.
