I hadn't seen it in the forums until now, but it seems that Denise Crosby (first Enterprise-D security chief Tasha Yar) is coming in to do some VO work for STO.
STO community manager pwebranflakes has started a thread in the Federation News Network forum on the STO website asking for players to submit their questions for Ms. Crosby!

Re: STO working with Denise Crosby on VO Project
That is really cool news. I am picturing a mission arc with the Romulans that plays out a lot like City on the Edge of Never, which is still my favorite mission. The voice work and little homages, although sometimes a bit much (Thomas Riker's kid anyone), are the things that make this game feel like it was made by someone who cares about the Star Trek product.

Agreed on that.
Empress Sela or Tasha Yar in the works... or both?
With the Ambassador class allegedly coming up, I would guess at least the latter; but I can already imagine a story with both!

Well, I am thinking that as Empress Sela and Tasha Yar are in different time lines, in STO they would be more likely to go with an Empress Sela homage.

I think it will have to do with her radical faction of Romulans and some mission series involving her that way. I doubt they will do a Tasha Yar Enterprise-C storyline because it will be too much of a rip off from City on the Edge of Never.

Re: STO working with Denise Crosby on VO Project
Sela and Tasha are in the current prime timeline (starting at the Battle of Narendra III) since Tasha was sent back from the alternate future into our own timeline... thus the birth of Sela.
If they use the Guardian of Forever to send us back to stop Sela from altring the timeline and being helped by Rachel Garrett's ship, then yes, it would be a bland rip-off of COTEON.
Otherwise, any time travel story is as different as the next... and would make sense to introduce the Ambassador class in it's historical context.
But not mandatory.
We'll have to wait and see I guess.

Well, last Friday (January 11th) featured STO screenshot is that of none other than the Enterprise C.
So, it does loo like the Ambassador class is the new ship announced for year 3 and part of the featured anniversary episode they are planning to release early February. Clues seem to be leaning toward my above speculations

Re: STO working with Denise Crosby on VO Project
sounds pretty nifty to me...while the Ambassador isn't my most favorite ship, I do like it and Yesterday's Enterprise is definitely on my list of favorite episodes of TNG.

Re: STO working with Denise Crosby on VO Project
Well, it's my favorite of them all ships and I would love for it to be awesome enough to play her even over my devastating Chimera class... But not likely to happen; after all, it's a design even older than the Galaxy class! Even stuffed up with 25th century tech, it can not logically outmatch a pure modern design. Oh well...
Maybe Cryptic will eschew logic (like it never does...) and make it truly badass... One can always dream now, can't he?
I'll nevertheless will play her out for a good while anyway (I'll let you guess the name and registry number...); just too bad it came out sooooo late in-game. For an Enterprise class, it should have come way sooner.
Let's hope the wait was worth it.

Re: STO working with Denise Crosby on VO Project
Knowing Cryptic you will have a mission where you go back in time and meet up with Enterprise C or the same anomaly happens in the future and you have to replay Yesterday's Enterprise... I hope the mission is better then some of the worst case scenarios I have been thinking about.
