• Kola Mountain
Kola Mountain is a mountain in Bajor's Dahkur Province. It was the site of a stronghold in the 24th century.

• Northwest peninsula
The Northwest Peninsula was an uninhabited region of Bajor which had fertile soil. It would have been an ideal place to farm prior to the Occupation of Bajor by the Cardassian Union. Toxins plagued the soil after the Cardassian withdrawal, and it was on this basis that the Bajoran Provisional Government denied the Skrreeans' request to immigrate to the peninsula.

• Perikian Peninsula
The Perikian Peninsula is a geographical location on Bajor, known for its underground labyrinths. • Ratosha Pass
Ratosha Pass is an area on Bajor, near Serpent's Ridge.
Serpent's Ridge is an area of Bajor's Dahkur Province. It is a possible route to the Ratosha Pass and Lonar Province. The terrain is known to be quite rugged.

• Sahving Valley
The Sahving Valley was an area of Bajor where Li Nalas famously and heroically saved the people of Bajor by fighting a noble battle against several Cardassian Guls

• Southern islands
The Sahving Valley was an area of Bajor where Li Nalas famously and heroically saved the people of Bajor by fighting a noble battle against several Cardassian Guls

Tanis Canyon was an area of Bajor where Shakaar Edon and his friends had a stand-off with the Bajoran Militia over the use of soil reclamators

• Trilar Peninsula
Trilar Peninsula was an area of Bajor, the irrigation system of which the Chamber of Ministers, particularly Minister Rozahn, once argued about for over two days

Bodies of water

Due to a slight green tint in Bajor's atmosphere, the seas on Bajor appear green in color when seen from orbit.
Rivers:

• Glyrhond River
The Glyrhond River is located on the planet Bajor. It runs north-south through Hedrikspool, one of the harshest areas on the planet. The river has defined the mutual border of the Paqu and Navot villages since the treaty of 2279. During the Cardassian Cccupation, it was used for mining operations and diverted twenty kilometers west.

• Holana River
It ran through Musilla Province. Some stretches were said to be the most romantic spots on the entire planet

• Yolja River
The Yolja River is a body of water on Bajor, located in Kendra Province
The Qui'al Dam is a large dam near the city of Janir on Bajor, featured in Trakor's Third Prophecy. It was restored to working order in 2371 to provide water to the city and surrounding areas Provinces

Provinces:

• Dahkur Province
The Dahkur Province is a region on Bajor, dominated by agricultural use. One notable exception are the Dahkur Hills, an impassable area that includes the Kola Mountain, Tanis Canyon, Ratosha Pass and Serpent's Ridge.
With this rough mountain terrain, the Bajoran Resistance was able to survive in the Dahkur Province better than in other regions of Bajor. The resistance cell led by Shakaar Edon used these mountains as an advantage, a group which even Gul Dukat admitted that the Cardassians were not able to effectively suppress

• Hedrikspool Province
The Hedrikspool Province is located on planet Bajor.
In 2370, a new nature preserve was opened in the province.

• Hill Province
Hill Province is the name given of a large mountainous area of Bajor. In 2371 the local government of Hill Province was temporarily suspended and martial law declared by Kai Winn. This was done because Shakaar Edon's defiant attitude, evidenced by his refusing to return some soil reclamators to the Bajoran Provisional Government, had begun to spread to other provinces; Hill Province was one of those provinces.

• Kendra Province
Kendra Province is a geographical region on Bajor and the location of Kendra Valley. The soil in Kendra Province is suitable for growing kava.

During the Occupation of Bajor, it was the site of the infamous Kendra Valley Massacre, where forty-two members of the Bajoran Resistance were killed.

In 2374, the instability of the Bajoran wormhole due to the Reckoning caused massive earthquakes in Kendra Province, leaving thousands homeless

• Lonar Province
Lonar Province is an area of Bajor.
In late 2371, Major Kira Nerys suggested to Shakaar Edon, Furel and Lupaza that they should head to Lonar Province, via Serpent's Ridge and the Ratosha Pass.

• Musilla Province
The Musilla Province is a province on the planet Bajor. It is the location of the Holana River.
In 2366, the Bajoran Resistance committed four bombings in this province
The Musilla Province is home to a university. By 2373 Mobara, a former member of the Shakaar resistance cell worked at the university's engineering school. He was murdered there that year by Silaran Prin

• Rakantha Province
Rakantha Province is a geographical region on Bajor. Once one of the most productive agricultural lands on the planet, it was poisoned during the Cardassian Occupation and became barren wasteland. In 2371, the Bajoran Agricultural Ministry developed soil reclamators that could detoxify the soil. Kai Winn Adami, during her brief tenure as First Minister, ordered the reclamators be deployed to Rakantha in the hopes of growing cash crops for export, such as boton, moreka, and salam grass. However, the reclamators had already been promised to Dahkur Province, and Winn's attempts to force their early removal nearly led to civil war.

In 2374, instability in the Bajoran wormhole caused by the Reckoning led to widespread flooding in Rakantha, destroying two-thirds of the wheat harvest.

• Tozhat Province
The Tozhat province was a province of Bajor. The Tozhat Resettlement Center was located here. In the 2360s Kotan Pa'Dar was the exarch of a Cardassian settlement in this province during the Occupation.

BAJORANS

APPEARANCE
Bajorans resemble Humans in appearance, and are distinguished by a series of four to seven horizontal creases across their noses. Bajorans also feature two light and dark skinned racial variants, although the dark skinned Bajorans appear to be a very small minority.

PHYSIOLOGY
The Bajoran heart is mirrored along a horizontal axis, unlike the Human heart, which is mirrored along a vertical axis. A puncture in the lower ventricle of the heart will cause instantaneous death. Bajorans have a lifespan of at least 100 years; as arbiter Els Renora states her age to be such, and looks and acts as a healthy 21st century human in her seventies. Given her apparent good health, it is quite possible they lived even longer.

MATING
Similar to Humans however Bajoran women gestate for only five months, forming an intricate network of blood vessels between the mother and the fetus. During the pregnancy, Bajoran women are frequently afflicted by bouts of uncontrollable sneezing.

DIET
The bajorans have a multitude of food stuffs, which can either be replicated, farmed or fished
 • Alvas
 • Bajoran shrimp
 • Deka tea
 • Foraiga
 • Groatcake
 • Hasperat
 • Hasperat souffle

 • Rekja
 • Springwine
 • Synthale or Bajoran ale◦ Voodai
 • Tuwaly pie

NAMING
Bajoran custom places the surname (or family name) before the given name. Therefore, Major Kira Nerys would properly be addressed as Major Kira, not Major Nerys

SOCIETY
Bajoran culture and customs are closely tied with Bajor's religious beliefs.

GOVERNMENT
Following the Cardassian withdrawal from Bajor, a Provisional Government was established in attempt to reorganize and rebuild Bajor. Bajor is also further divided into different Provinces, which might carry political competences, too.
There are some nationlike factions on Bajor, prominent examples are the Paqu and the Navot. One major faction that opposed the Provisional Government, and nearly succeeded in overthrowing it in 2370 was the Alliance for Global Unity.

Bajor first vied for Federation membership in 2373, however this was delayed due to Benjamin Sisko's visions of the impending Dominion invasion of the Alpha Quadrant. Later that year, Bajor signed a nonaggression pact with the Dominion prior to inception of the Dominion War following an endorsement by the Emissary of the Prophets. Following the defeat of the Dominion in 2375, Bajor was once again in the process of gaining membership into the Federation.

The Bajoran Central Archives is the main holder of data on the planet.

In late 2375, Dukat and Kai Winn Adami attempted to release the Pah-wraiths from the Fire Caves to destroy Bajor, but they were stopped by Captain Sisko, the Emissary

RELIGION:
The Bajoran religion is centered around the Prophets, the Bajoran name for the aliens who reside in the Bajoran wormhole, which the Bajorans believe is the Celestial Temple. Bajorans think of these aliens as gods, and they often pray to the Prophets and pray to them for guidance. They also believe that everything happens for a reason, as it is the will of the Prophets.
The word of the Prophets has guided Bajor for tens of thousands of years, and over the years, nine orbs, or "tears of the Prophets," have emerged from the wormhole. The spiritual leader of Bajor is the Kai.
Charity, humility and faith are seen as the keys to enlightenment in the Bajoran faith.

Organization
Over the centuries, a stratified system has developed by which the Bajoran faith is organized. Although the Emissary takes precedence above all others, the Kai is the spiritual leader of Bajor, elected from and by the Vedeks in the Vedek Assembly. The Assembly rules alongside the provisional government and its Chamber of Ministers. Vedeks normally preside over religious ceremonies, assisted by Ranjens.

RELATIONS TO THE FEDERATION:
Independent / United Federation of Planets Non-Member Ally

HISTORY

Early history
Bajoran civilization stretches back more than half a million years, which is long before Humans learned to speak or make tools. The ancient Bajorans were renowned for their accomplishments in science, mathematics, philosophy, and the arts. The greatest of these early Bajoran civilizations was the First Republic, which flourished between 25,000 and 20,000 years ago. During this time, magnificent cities such as B'hala were built.

The next great phase of Bajoran civilization began approximately 10,000 years ago, when the first of the Tears of the Prophets were discovered above Bajor. These artifacts ushered in a new era of spiritual connection with the Bajoran gods, the Prophets. By the 16th century, the Bajorans had developed sublight space travel and were exploring their home star system with solar-sail spacecraft. Some Bajoran explorers even reached the Cardassian system, several light years away.

In the 22nd century, Akorem Laan departed Bajor in a lightship. His vessel was damaged in an ion storm, and drifted into the Denorios Belt, where he opened and entered the Bajoran wormhole and met with the Prophets.

In the 24th century, this period came to an end with the annexation of Bajor by Cardassia.

The Occupation
The Occupation of Bajor (usually simply referred to as the Occupation) was the period from 2328 to 2369 during which the Bajoran homeworld of Bajor was under the control of the Cardassian Union. During the Occupation, the Cardassians perpetrated a coordinated scheme of strip-mining, forced labor, and genocide across the planet. The Occupation gave rise to the fierce Bajoran Resistance, which used guerrilla and terror tactics to eventually force the Cardassians to withdraw. Many Bajorans also fled the occupation and settled on planets all over the known galaxy, but almost everywhere they remained separated from other peoples, living under the poorest circumstances in refugee camps like those on Valo II

Independent Bajor
In 2369, after nearly forty years of domination over Bajor, the Cardassians finally left, no longer willing to stand against the relentless terrorism of the Bajoran Resistance. As the Bajorans established a provisional government, the United Federation of Planets moved into the system and, along with the Bajoran military, established joint control of Terok Nor, a mining station, which they renamed Deep Space 9. Bajor applied for membership in the Federation in 2373, but retracted their application at the last moment because their Emissary told them this would be disastrous for Bajor. The two governments maintained a cordial relationship, however.
Prior to the beginning of the Dominion War, Bajor signed a nonaggression pact with the Dominion, choosing to remain neutral. This saved Bajor from coming under the rule of another foreign power when the Dominion captured Deep Space 9 in late 2373. Bajor finally joined the fight against the Dominion in 2374 after the Allies recaptured Deep Space 9 in the Operation Return. The Bajorans continued to fight against the Dominion until 2375, when the Treaty of Bajor was signed on Deep Space 9 in 2375. Following the war, Bajor resumed its attempt to become a member of the United Federation of Planets.
