Hello everyone!
I'm a pretty new STO player and i really like it so far (i grew up watching Star trek : next generation and the original, so it's quite awesome to be part of the universe!)
I'm looking for a friendly bunch of people to play with and i'm also looking for some guidance in learning the ropes.
You guys look exactly like that type of group! I'll go take a look at the academy program.

I would direct your attention toward the left panel of the site and point out "Getting Started>Join STO Fleet" link.
Although our academy is free to all to attend, it is a required mandate for joining Lotus Fleet here. In-game, I am sure one of our many ever-diligent members will be certain to look you up when next they are in-game.

Might just be some misspelling on your part and the thing is also case sensitive. I was very careful myself and even removed the little r at the end on the third try, thiking it might have been a typo. Alas, it didn't work either.
