Happy Birthday Star Trek! A RP celebration

On September 8 1966 aired the first episode of a new TV series called Star Trek. (Historical trivia; that same episode first aired three days before in Canada!). The episode was titled "Man Trap", featuring a monster, zap guns and a spaceship; what was defined as "proper science fiction" in those days.

The rest is History.

On September 8 2016 begins the celebrations of fifty years of a sci-fi saga that inspired entire societies and millions of people to try and do better, to hope for a better future for all of us, to have fun and to learn and to dream.

The Lotus Fleet RP department is planning a one month story special to live our very own unique adventure  in the universe created by the late, great Gene Roddenberry; an adventure that will mark another milestone in our very own Star Trek RP universe!

Anyone can join this play celebration! You are all invited to bring your current RP character able to get on Starbase Lotus, or dust off your off-duty ot retired character, or create a brand new one, and join the crew that will literally save reality!

This will be a fast-posting, one month event in the vein of our latest 45th anniversary Fool's Errand (download it from our Roleplay site!) and will involve everyone willing to make it come true. Just answer this roll call by giving your fleetname and the character you will bring in this once-in -a-lifetime RP story... and be part of it!

The actual story will begin September 22 and last until October 31st on our RP site.

Happy 50th Anniversary to the most iconic television series in television history!

- Lieutenant Jonathan Linvingstone might be available if no player assumes the role of science officer. However, for reasons given ICly, he will most probably not be unless the need is pressing.

- Doctor Elliago Nasaro-Myth will also be available if no player assumes the role of chief medical officer.

- Allegedly, Commander Schaell Schyssillyss will also be available if no player assumes the roles of strategic ops officer, security and/or tactical officer (the McKenzie mission is basically done but for finishing touches resolved either via subspace and/or on the starbase)

Captain Kheren will be there as well for the adventure but will not be in command of the critical mission that will be launched with the players. The Horizon crew will also be involved but not on the actual mission either.

Captain Oseno Jureth in theory will be available once the Alsea's current mission is complete.

This story will mark a pivotal moment as significant as the destruction of the Borg Collective and the demise of Section 31 had been! It will also feature one ship unique to our own RP where everyone will have a significant role to play!

RED ALERT! RED ALERT! ALL HANDS TO BATTLE STATIONS! THIS IS NO DRILL! THIS IS NO DRILL!

As announced on September 6 2016, the fiftieth anniversary of Star Trek, we start today our very own celebration with a special Roleplay adventure where everyone is invited to join! 

This is a momentous adventure that will define our RP universe as much as did the destruction of the Borg Collective and the dismanteling of Section 31. it is called:

THE EDGE OF NEVER

The title alone should give you an idea what it's all about. but there is no need to guess! The first introductory post will be up later today and the setting will be in place for an intense fast-pacing RP session of daily posting that will last until October 31st. Each day the story will move forward and events will rapidly unfold to determine if our very universe will end or survive!

We have six players already but anyone may join! Make or revive your RP character and get to the briefing room of Starbase Lotus on our RP page and be part of our RP History!
