TOS Theme Lyrics.

 Gene Roddenberry wrote the lyrics to the original series theme, about a year after the show aired. I have found Tenacious D's YouTube video of the them sung. The lyrics Gene wrote are:

Star Trek + Tenacious D = Awesome!!! 

JB & KG putting Gene's never used (and royalty receiving) lyrics to the classic theme is a perfect addition to today's 50th anniversary celebration.  

Here is a video of that performance as well (opening with the Beatles "Blackbird" with Tenacious D's "Rocketsauce" lyrics)
It's a grainy VHS transfer, but fun nevertheless.
