Congrats to the Galaxy for holding its own, if barely, with a 6-5 win to take 3rd place over the D'deridex!
Before we move to the pièce de résistance, I'd like to thank everyone for a fun, wild, sometimes heartbreaking, enlightening, and all around good game! To continue the game, the original poll has been extended to 225 days, which is just over 32 weeks. It is rare for anything on-line to last that long, and I believe a first for community games within Lotus Fleet, so thank you all for helping to make it happen!
Everyone who stuck with it until the end and voted on each match, as well as those offering some very opinionated, detailed, and/or impassioned arguments for their ship to win, made this game a success. I had no idea it would last and remain popular to the end, and I am very pleased to be among such a distinguished and dedicated group of true fans!
Now, without further ado, let us move on to the...
Championship Match!!
Federation Akira
Specifications
This stalwart heavy cruiser seen twice in Lotus Fleet's RP by the name of the USS Tempest and the USS Spectre is a force to be reckoned with. Designed almost entirely for combat after so many ships were destroyed by the Borg at the Battle of Wolf 359, the Starship was thus seen prominently in fighting the Borg, and fairing much better, in the Battle of Sector 001. With 3 Type X phaser arrays and a massive 15 pulse-fire photon torpedo tubes, the Akira is destruction-incarnate in a compact frame. Its relative diminutive size when compared with other cruisers such as the Ambassador and Galaxy just give it more of an ability to maneuver and flank the enemy, while also sacrificing on defensive capabilities just slightly.
Federation Sovereign
Specifications
The successor to the famous Galaxy-class captained by Jean Luc Picard is a sleeker design that still maintains a lot of what made the Galaxy-class so revolutionary. The size is slightly smaller with its slimmer width and height, but it still is large enough to hold the crew's immediate family, along with being able to evacuate thousands of refugees. In terms of armament, it is comparable to the Galaxy-class, but with upgraded phasers, the addition of 2 more photon torpedo tubes, and 1 additional torpedo tube for the new, more powerful quantum-type that had been added to the Defiant and other newer models.

Re: Starship Smackdown!
I'll make no predictions about the outcome of this one due to the unpredictable results that have previously occurred.
Nevertheless, I go with the impressive Sovereign class design.
It would definitely be my preferred ship to explore and carry out missions with.

Going Akira ... no surprise there!
I have stated before my fondness for the design and the equality of its offensive power. The Akira's more compact design give's her agility as well.
USS Spectre FTW! lol

Agreeing with both BLZBUB and BL here. Akira for the win!
In a nutshell: never liked the Sovy in any manner shape or form. The Akira managed to wow me in barely seconds of screentime.
And to my surprise, since I'm not fond of downward nacelles style to begin with! LOL! (too klingonee for me... and yet...)

Re: Starship Smackdown!
I had to go with the Sovereign on this one. While the Akira is an impressive design, one I have used for much fun in STO, I can't turn my back on the Sovereign. It is very rare that I am wowed by a ship design and I still remember seeing the published photos of First Contact, along with the chocolate bars they announced, that showed the new Enterprise.
