Congrats to the Borg Cube for its inevitable win over the Federation Oberth. However, the Oberth held it's own taking 4 votes to the Cube's 8!
Next race we have a competition between the Rebel X-wing and the Imperial TIE Fighter!
Rebel X-wing
Specifications
The X-wing was a prominent series of multiple starfighters produced by Incom with a characteristic "X"-shape of four wings, known as S-foils, extending out from the fuselage. These starfighters were found in the service of the Rebel Alliance, New Republic, and also the Galactic Alliance. They were originally meant for the Galactic Empire but when the entire Incom design team defected with the prototypes to the Rebel Alliance this deal was over. Despite this, however, at least one X-wing was stolen by a Stormtrooper.
Imperial TIE Fighter
Specifications
The TIE/LN starfighter, or TIE/line starfighter, simply known as the TIE Fighter, was the standard Imperial starfighter seen in massive numbers throughout most of the Galactic Civil War and onward. Colloquially, Rebel and New Republic pilots referred to the craft as "eyeballs."

Yep, one day only! Well until 5 PM, since I couldn't change the time... the real ones will be posted tonight or early tomorrow.
Unfortunately because of the nature of forums, I only get to fool one of you... glad it was our esteemed leader, that made it even better! LOL

Re: Starship Smackdown!
Well it was rather obvious thsi was a prank... but a cute one
And I don't care that the X-Wing is so much better (proton torpedoes, widening fire angle, hyperdrive, maintenance droid assistance, deflector screens) and the Tie conceived as cannonfodder; I vote Tie fighter because the design and the stuka-type evil screaming flight are so cool compared to a mere jet plane in space.
And with no shields, no heavy weaponry, no droid and no hyperdrive, you need balls of steel to fly these!

Re: Starship Smackdown!
Miossed the poll, but as it was the 1st today, no matter.
I would have gone T.I.E. though, as it is half the length of the X-wing and more maneuverable.
Beside's ... I have cookies here on the Dark Side!

Well, even counting BLZBUB's vote, the X-wing still won 3-2 in our April Fool's Day fight!
Back to our regularly scheduled program with a competition between the Federation Intrepid and the Klingon D5 Battlecruiser.
Federation Intrepid
Specifications
The perseverance of the Intrepid-class was demonstrated by the most famous iteration of the ship, the USS Voyager, when it was lost in the Delta Quadrant for almost 7 years. When compared to the other ships of its time, the size is not overly impressive, but was average. Its single-hull design was counter to many of the other explorer-cruisers of the era, such as the Ambassador and Galaxy. What made it stand out was its speed. Its normal cruising speed of Warp 8 was 2 full warp factors above the Galaxy, and its top rated velocity approached transwarp at a mind-blowing Warp 9.985. It had an above average armament, with 13 Type VIII phaser arrays and 5 photon torpedo tubes. This ship was not made for a long drawn out fight, and the Voyager often survived by running away, which it did well. However, not being Klingons, this was certainly an acceptable alternative to fighting.
Klingon D5 Battlecruiser
Specifications
This predecessor to the D7 and Bird-of-Prey had a similar design concept in that it appeared like a bird with wings. This common Klingon design must have been useful for more easily transitioning between sub-atmospheric flight and spaceflight. The armament was lacking in that it had no torpedoes, just 4 Mark-5 disruptor cannons. This was later resolved when its successor, the D7, was designed. Despite those drawbacks, it was actually one of the biggest ships the Klingons developed in the 22nd and 23rd centuries, it's size not surpassed until the develpoment of the B'rel-class in 2327. While not able to deal out much of a punch, it was certainly able to take one, with a hull strength even more than that of the fearsome Negh'Var.

Re: Starship Smackdown!
I had to go with the Federation Intrepid-class on this round.
Overall, it just seems to be a more versatile and capable vessel than the Klingon D-5... IMHO

Re: Starship Smackdown!
My thoughts exactly Jeff, the Intrepid is one of the more versatile classes Starfleet produced and also pioneered several technologies that would be common place on later starships such as bio-neural circuits and the Emergency Medical Hologram.
Not only that but Voyager showed the true mettle of the class crossing unknown space without access to Starfleet repair or supply facilities and came through almost better than when she started though some of that may be due to the ingenuity of her crew.
The D5 while good at what she did, was your basic Klingon warship....no real versatility, no technological advancements, no frills.

I have to side with the majority on this one ... Intrepid all the way.
The D5 is just out-classed in every way: Firepower; maneuverability; Speed;

Well, the Intrepid handily trounced the Klingon D5, with a result only matched by the Galaxy vs Valdore at 10-0.
In this particular race, I get to introduce a new race again! However, it is the final race to be introduced, the Ferengi. For this faction I chose Dark Orange, because it was the closest to Gold that I could find! Please vote on the competition between the Ferengi D'Kora and the Federation Nebula!
Ferengi D'Kora
Specifications
The Ferengi D'Kora is similar in size and firepower to the Nebula in almost every way. The 10 phaser banks output at approximately 2/3 the power of the Nebula, but the 2 Type-3 photon torpedo tubes are in a rapid-fire configuration allowing for higher rate of penetration once the shields are down. The design, however, is unique and quite striking and the copper-gold hue of the hull is reminiscent of money, the Ferengi peoples' driving force. The D'Kora's speed is comparable to other ships at the time, with a normal cruising rate of Warp 6 and a Maximum rate of 9.6.
Federation Nebula
Specifications
The Nebula was developed in the mid-24th century as a smaller counterpart to the Galaxy that could be produced in greater numbers. It has many of the same features and capabilities as the Galaxy, such as saucer separation, but is approximately 66% of the size. Even the armament is comparable, but smaller, with 2 Type-3 photon torpedo tubes (same as Galaxy), and 8 Type-X phaser bank arrays (the Galaxy has 12). Similar to the D'Kora and other ships of the time, the normal cruising rate is Warp 6 and a Maximum rate of 9.4.
