Interstellar looks like science fiction with good science (mind challenging premise and realistic speculation) and good fiction (endearing characters and interesting plot); yeah that's what Star Trek was... before J.J. "I don't understand it" Abrams and "serious reseqrchers deep in ST lore" Orci & Kurtzman.

I'm even more worried about the kind of moronic, empty, meaningless story they will put him in and the insane, stupid, uncharacteristic thoughts and actions they will make him do will rehashing quoted stereotyped lines.
Like making him bed Deanna Troi saying to her "make it so" and get a tantrum beating from Riker while Geordi cannot see the buttons on the intercom and Data cannot start the Enterprise saying "intriguing" because Worf has a pet targ loose in the engine room and running after him with his bathleth shouting "today is a good day to die, pig!"
You all know the pattern by now.
