HOW TO POST FAN-FICTION ON THE FORUM by Jae Onasi

Have you come up with a Star Trek story, some fan-fiction, or even an original tale of your own that you need to tell? Well, you've come to the right place! This is the section where you can feel free to write and post your original works. However, there are some guidelines all our members need to follow.

1. Your works can be short stories, novellas, novels, fan-fiction, poetry, and so on. They can be related to Star Trek, or they can be from a completely different setting.

2. You can post a work-in-progress (aka WIP), an outline, a complete story, chapters of a story, and so on. The stories do not have to be complete.

3. Keep the language and content PG-13. If you're wondering if a scene or language is 'going too far' with violence, language, sexual content, or anything else, PM one of us Admirals to ask before posting. Keep in mind that we have members who range in age from 13 to 60+.

4. One of the biggest rules here: Don't plagiarize. Copying someone else's work and calling it your own (especially copyrighted works) is strictly prohibited. Plagiarism can lead to JAG action, and none of us wants that. Yes, we can and do conduct searches of the different popular writing and fan-fic sites if something looks fishy here. You may quote other writers, but you must provide the proper citation.

5. Please keep all critiques constructive. It takes a lot of courage to post work for public review. Rude or destructive criticism is a form of flaming and will be handled as such. If you're not sure how to give constructive critques, please see the thread on how to do so on this forum:

6. Don't advertise your story in someone else's thread. Don't ask for reviews of your writing in someone else's thread. Besides being rude and just plain tacky, it's spamming. It will be handled the same way we handle spam elsewhere on the forums.

7. Don't bump your thread to ask for a critique. Those posts will be removed. If people want to comment, they'll comment. If they don't want to comment, that's OK, too. Just keep writing and hang in there.

8. Have fun!

And in all of that... and perhaps more...
only one of each of us."
