Hey all,
Now that we're in the process of filling up the new ships there's a couple things I've noticed that I wanted to try to get people to be aware of beforehand.
If you create a new NPC, you'll have to ask your ship CO or XO to link the character to your account. COs/XOs if you are asked to assist with this and need help in learning how to do this, please let me know. Also if you don't hear from them, come to me and I'll be happy to do it for you.
Also, for those of you who were already in the RP site, you can continue to use the NPCs you made already. Again, you can ask your CO/XO with assistance in moving them to your department, or me if necessary.

Re: Managing NPCs in the RP site
It is helpful in locating the NPCs to complete this task if you include the department that they are in too.
(+ their previous ship as confirmation)
Note: I noticed that If you give them a secondary position in a department that their name will appear twice; once for each position. Just something to consider.

Note: A tutorial on managing NPCs is here...

Note, however, that the tutorials in the wiki in general are based off a previous version of the CMS (Content Management System) and some things may be out of date / wrong until I have a chance to update it. However, it may provide a good basic guide or answer questions you have.

Re: Managing NPCs in the RP site
Hey all you RPers who are working on your NPCs. I thought it important to go over how detailed the character backgrounds need to be.
Essentially, for all 10+ NPCs, we need the basic information first: Name, Position, Rank, Race, Gender, Age.
That is the bare minimum that would be required to start the stories. Once that information is filled out, however, then you can go back in later, and decide how detailed you want to make the backgrounds for all NPCs. For this, I would suggest first going through and filling out the simple details (Height, Weight, Hair/Eye/Skin Color, Spouse, Mother, Father, Field of Study, and Specialty).
As the RP progresses and you become comfortable with using certain characters a lot, I would then pick those several favorite NPCs and fill out the whole background, if it is something you really feel is important to make sure people are aware of the NPC's full details so that they will interact with them properly.
