UFP Armada & Communication

Lotus Fleetmates,

Now that we're part of the UFP armada in STO, there is more opportunity for in game group activity than we have had in a while.

One perk to this alliance is the UFP cross-faction armada chat channel in game. The channel name is "UFPlanets." If you're like myself and you aren't always in a position to use voice chat, this is a great thing. It allows players in our new armada to communicate via in game text in one place, regardless of faction or fleet. I humbly suggest that any member interested in being more active in STO join this channel. I've used it myself to group for in-game activities, share information on the game, and even just chat with new players.

The absolute easiest way to join this channel is to go into your chat box and type the following:

/channel_join UFPlanets

You can also join through the chat configuration window by right clicking on any of your chat tabs and going to the channel list. Then, type in UFPlanets and select join.

Hopefully you guys find this as useful as I did.

See you in game!

Attendance roster:
Vice Admiral Bill, Head of External Operations, UFP
Provisional Lieutenant Monsteromen, External operations, UFP
Ensign jestersmith ( FA Rep.)
badski166 ( TF6)
Montross Farlander ( Roughnecks)
Kahn ( 12th Legacy)
saber jad83
Teiral
Admiral BLZBUB ( Lotus Fleet)

((Sorry to saber jad86 & Teiral, I don't know their fleet affiliations.))

Meeting started with discussion of the KDF side of the aramda. Bill suggested we prioritize aid to KDF fleets that are below level 40. Most projects in the Klingon fleets are short of Dilithium, so wanted to push donations there, if possible. 12th Imperial KDF  said they are progressing nicely however, so they're good.

On the Federation side: Once fleets are reaching about level 35 and up, the common DOFF's are the biggest obstacal to progression within most fleets. We were informed ( and Battle Lion can back this up ;) ) that common DOFF's can be garnered at the academy at earth. Slotting the missions there will earn your alt's common DOFF's every 2 days I think, so it was urged to get the players to keep slotting these Academy missions for DOFF's.

Joint Fleet events:
Suggestion that JF's be urged to use missions that award item's that can be contributed to fleet projects ... like the DOFF's mentioned above, or embassy points, or fleet credits, etc. A good idea that was well thought of all around. Bill hoped that the rebalancing of the space/ground missions coming up will spur more event participation, as it seems many are not keen on these old missions, and the imbalance between space and ground scenarios in-game.
12th Legacy seems to be the majority participant in JF events.

It is hoped the new content slated to come down on April 25th will spur renewed interest in the game, as participation is lagging. So, going forward, UFP is planning to get more events marked in their calendar in order to promote the events. Suggestion came forth to urge member fleets to step up events in their own calendars where possible. Try to promote events that have specific goals ... i.e: Fleet Marks, etc.
While STO is the major push for events, it was mentioned that other games are played by Armada members ( i.e.: Eve online, Star Wars: The Old Republic, etc. ) and perhaps we could push relations in these other games, and thereby generate interest in our Armada and/or fleets.

Roughnecks will soon be slotting their academy.

All in all, a good meeting. Turnout could have been a bit more representative, as there were the above listed fleets in attendance, out of the 13 in the Armada.

On a special note, Prov. Lt. Monsteromen is a new father, a baby girl, so he was called away 1/2 way through. If you see him in-game, know that he is probably tired and escaping the RL responsibilities while he can. lol

 Good gaming all:
Admiral BLZBUB,
Fleet XO,
Director of Staff.

 I should add ...

Provisional Lieutenant Monsteromen is the new Armada liason under Vice Admiral Bill.

Lt. Cmdr. InfernalPotato and V. Adm. Battle Lion, you two can contact him in matters concerning the Armada (as well as V. Adm. Bill of course). But Monsteromen will be the new #1 for Armada business.

The June UFP Armada meeting has been cancelled. If you have any Armada questions pending, please forward them to either myself, Vice Admiral Battle Lion, Comander InfernalPotato or directly to Admiral Bill on the UFP forums.

Greetings All, No meeting this month. We will start up again in the summer after we have a chance to process and enjoy all that the new season has to offer. And be on the lookout for events associated with the June UFPAC. These will be open to all Armada members and I encourage you to take part in as much as you can.

Best regards,

ARMADA ASSEMBLY MEETING - October 20, 2018 20:00 UFP [ c/p from Admiral Bill's post @ UFP ]

PRESENT: Bill (UFP), Badski166 (GoD/Task Force 6), BLZBUB (LF), Jestersmith (FA),
EXCUSED ABSENCE: JDCollins

TOPICS.

We discussed the status of the Armada during the summer hiatus and there were no reported problems or concerns
- It was noted that things slowed down considerably over the summer and will hopefully begin to pick up now

Feelings were mixed on the Age of Discovery roll out
- One comment was that the grind of leveling up from 0 may be a factor to some players, particularly after the level boost for the Jem toons
- The content was also felt to be lacking, but all were reminded that this is just the beginning of the AoD storyline

The Random Task Force queues were discussed and there were also some mixed feeling. But, overall it was thought to be a potentially useful way to schedule Fleet and Armada events without the need for dedicated event officers.

ACTION ITEMS.

Begin planning for Armada inclussive events to occur during the 50th UFPAC weekend.

There being no further business at this time, the meeting was adjourned.

Incoming Hail from Admiral Bill at UFP ...

Greetings All, I wanted to reach out to you all with two announcements.

The first is that we will be having an Armada Delegates Meeting next month on June 22 @ 12 pm EDT. The Agenda and a reminder will be sent out in early June.

The second is the announcement of the return of the UFP Special Forces event. Here is a link to the event sign up and additional information.

This is a really fun event for players of all levels and I encourage you to let your fleet mates know about the event. It is open to all members of the Armada and the more the better! I hope to see many of you this coming Saturday at the return of the Special Forces event.

Best regards, Bill

Incoming hail from Admiral Bill at UFP:

Greetings All,

This is just a reminder that we will be having an Armada Delegates Meeting on June 22 @ 12 pm EDT.
I don't have any pending agenda items so this will be more of a social meeting. However, if anyone does have anything they need to discuss there will be ample time and feel free to send a pm to all if any prior research or consideration is needed.
We will meet on Team speak as usual, hope to see you all on Saturday!

Best regards, Bill
