The new system is a thing that happened.  i wont say Im all on board with it but I doubt my one squeaky wheel will change much so Ill try and be helpful

If you log in and see a blue ferengi pop up and vanish into your doff list its the rewrd from having mastered the old crafting system.  Supposedly he is tuned tgo make crafting the Aegis easier.

If you have a ful roster the crafting doffs will hide in a craft.  Their white 0% doffs with no stats.  Cant be used in the Fleet (of course).  if you have normal Doffs with those specializations you can use them instead...in fact their better since you get the % added in.  Their just meant for new people to the Doff/crafting system.

If anyone wants to work together so we can focus more in certain areas Im all for it. 

To take this on casually the first day do a research, that will get you level 2 in 20 hours and 2 slots.  Then the next day do 2 researches.  You need level 4 to unlock the 3rd slot and 5 at 5 for the 4th so they will come more slowly.

You can not cancel a craft once you hit the button to make it.  It will burn you rmats and force you to wait unless you pay.

The Allied zone in the Dyson sphere has 8-10 gather materials missions.  if you hit Tae Dewa, portal to the sphere and collect the ones there you can do almost a full run of gathering material missions (Mostly in Sci areas).

I just have to say that I absolutely HATE the new duty assignment system released by Season 9.5.  It takes me 5 times longer now to find the assignments that I want and assign the DoFFs that I want to do the assignment.  And it doesn't allow me to filter my DoFFs...it just lists all of them.  Major Failure in my opinion.

Now...so far as the crafting goes, I honestly do not care or have an opinion on it.  I've yet to try it at this point. 

I completely agree with Athos, It was such an easy to use system before.

I gave up on the crafting system a long time ago as "Expensive and Irrelevant" so I don't really have anything invested in it.

Is it actually good for something that makes a difference?

I have crafting maxed on Jureth but haven't used it for anything really since they added the dilithium component requirement. 

As far as the Doffs go...leave it to Cryptic to fix something that really isn't broken.

no no...the old one...sorry I hadn't logged on and seen the new system before I made that post...just read the dev blogs. 

At any rate I won't be doing anything with the new system going from maxed to zero with nothing to show for it is more than moderately irritating. Not only that but I find the new system unnecessarily complicated, and for lack of a better term, a time sink that I want nothing to do with. 

As I said in chat last night..Cryptic can kiss my Bajoran backside. 

Well maxed crafters were suposed to get a blue doff with a cool ability that will help you build the aegis set.  A Ferengi.

yes, I got the Doff...not enough in my opinion...I have no desire to spend my dilithium and time on their lousy crafting system. I'd rather donate it to fleet projects, or use it to purchase gear that I will actually use as opposed to crafting things that I likely will not use. I do love  how they got rid of the dilithium store gear in an attempt to force you to craft..nice touch. 

As far as gear for leveling I have enough account bound gear to give a new alt just about anything they will need, and what I don't have I have enough energy credits to buy off the exchange. So yeah...no crafting for me. Really I stopped crafting when they tried to force me to use dilithium to buy components...I'm so dead set against it I wanted to space the crafting doffs they gave me...but they won't let me at least not so far as I can tell...
