well the good news is that the sov is a great ship.
its tankier than the regent, but doesnt do as much damage as a trade off. i assume you want to stick with this ship and not use something different? if thats not the case, reply with what ship you want to switch to.
the good news is that end game elite content is fairly easy to tank, especially in a cruiser. so i think we will be able to get your deepz AND healz up.
ok so thers a few ways we can go about this. i recommend the aux to batt build for this tac starved cruiser.
BUT, you cant just dive into an A2B build, so i first recommend doing a dragon build while you grind up your three purple technician doffs (i'll get to that in a moment.)
ok so first, the dragon build basics in case you havent read through the whole thread.
the dragon flagship build is as old as the game itself essentially, it provides a tough ship that deals a respectable amount of damage as well.
its essentially 2 copies of EPTS and EPTW. most people go with EPTS1 x2 and EPTW3 x2.
essentially, because of the way the global cooldowns work on the EPTx powers, you can alternate EPTS and EPTW every 15s, and have 100% uptime of both powers. pretty neat huh? and thats all there is to it.
so heres what i would do until you can A2B (almost there, hang on)
tac powers:
tac team, fire at will
fire at will
Eng powers:
epts1, eng team2, eptw3, dem3
epts1, rsp1, eptw3
sci powers:
hazard emitters, transfer shield strength
now about your weapons.
sorry to say but tetryon is pretty bad. its proc is not nearly as useful as the other damage types.
i recommend plasma, disruptor, antiproton, polaron in that order. the good news is that you can get rare AP beams for free as a mission reward so i would go with those. only problem is the matching tac consoles are going to be expensive. you can buy them with dil tho incase you have that coming out of your ears.
you are going to want to broadside, so you should have all beam arrays. not even kidding. when you get the kinetic cutting beam, slot that in. if you ever get the regent class, it will come with a wide angle quantum which is the only torp you should slot on a broadsider. so basicaly, you need 8 beam arrays for the time being.
as far as a gear set goes, if you decide to go with polarons, get the jem hadar set (for free!)., anything else, get the solanae set, also for free. those will hold you over until you get some serious fleet/rep gear.
dump that warp core, get a rare one off the exchange. you want one that gives extra power to weapons, so [S->W] is a good modifier. [EFF] is also something to look for. they are cheap, usually 150K or less.
replay the devidian mission and get the SUBSPACE FIELD MODULATOR. a great defensive boost, just dont use it against VOTH. eveyrone else is fine.
play the numbus missions and get hte NIMBUS PIRATE DISTRESS CALL device. you dont need to slot it, just keep it in your inventory. nice to have in case you get in trouble.
get rid of all those engineering consoles. youre going to want a neutronium alloy (get one from the fleet mine, with +trn) if you have the borg console from way back when it was a mission reward, slot that. if not, get another neutronium for a total of 2.
that should put you at 2 or 3 consoles so far. 2 neutroniums and the borg. no borg? get 2 sif generators to help your healing.
science consoles, get an embassy console (emitter array +pla -th mk xi) it will boost your shield heal ( NOT REGEN RATE console)
it will also add the plasma proc to your weapons, or if you use plasma alreayd, add 9% damage to them. nice.
if you use polarons, get a flow cap console, +pla -th
if you have a field generator, slot that in sci, or get another embassy science console.
tactical consoles, 3x of the console taht boosts your ENERGY damage type. tac console meta game is boring. boost your energy damage only, or you are gimping yourself.
http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?build=niomotest_0check out htat skill tree and gear layout.
as you gain new rep tiers, good upgrades are the consoles. borg, romulan, nukara consoles are must haves. so is the kinetic cutting beam. if you can afford a PLASMONIC LEECH (exchange) or a TACHYOKINETIC CONVERTER (lobi store), get those def.
ok, so start hanging out in B'tran nebula. the VA nebula and the regular lower ranked instance too. check your doff missions for the colonization chain of 7 missions. do those missions, some can be hard to find, just keep checking every day.
the last mission in that chain is repeatable, make sure you crit it. if you crit it, you get a purple technician. blues are ok, and will do until you get 3 purples.
once you have 3 technicians, *they need to be purple for it to work right*
slot them active duty space.
then swap your powers to this
TAC powers
Tac team, attack pattern beta
fire at will
Eng Powers:
eng team, aux to batt, eptw3, DEM3
epts1, aux to batt, RSP
Sci powers:
Haz emitters, science team
when ever you hit an aux to batt, your 3 technicians will reduce every BOFF power that is on cool down to global cool down levels, effecively doubling all your Boff powers. now you have 2 eptw3. 2 attack pattern beta. 2 fire at will.
its pretty much cheating lol. so much fun.
as for your other doffs, get a vucnak, he costs about 975K but he has a chance to clear all your debuffs when you hit an EPTx power. useful.
maybe a warp core engineer as well, so that you can hava a chance to gain massive power level boosts.
i recommend romulan plasma from the rep store for when you get serious.
as far as gear goes, get the romulan engines if they dont change them...bc they add 26.2 to your attack patterns skill. then get the 2 piece adapted maco to go with it, or regular maco if you have no plasmonic leech...or borg 2 peice for extra heals.
upgrade to a fleet core with AMP and [s->w] [eff] and some kind of capacitor.
AMP is a great modifier that gives you an extra 3.3% damage for each subsystem you ahve power 75 or more in.
which will be weapons, shields, and engines, so an extra 10% damage basically.
Aux to batt also drains your aux power and distributes it to all your other systems, so it makes you deal alot of damage, and boosts your shield regen rate, and speed. you just gotta get used to having no aux power.
lastly, i recommend key binding and macros when you start Aux2batting, as it will greatly increase your DPS.
i know thats alot, any questions?
work up to it, its not a race.
