ok looking at what you got going on now, id say you are leaning towards crowd control with some debuff mixed in.

do you like flying this intrepid? i can help it out if you do, or we can try to put you in a different ship.

what reputation levels are you at, if any?

based on what i see, i think a vesta class, or a dyson science vessel looks like it would give you the most of what you are trying to do currently.

vesta and dyson slant heavily toward the cannon builds, but that might not be a bad idea. changing your playstyle could be just the boost you need?

the tac focused vesta is a neat ship. it comes with a console that does...something, it comes with a cannon that uses aux power instead of weapon power, and it has a hanger bay.

dyson will give you the option to swap between tac and science depending on your needs in that battle.



when i went from pure healer to dps tank, i started having a lot more fun, but thats just me. find ways to keep the game feeling new.


all that being said, theres nothing actually stopping you from keeping beams, though you should pick a damage type and stick with it.

if you have the dyson ship, i think you should use that, just to ease into a cannon build to see if you like it. the vesta and fleet recon take resources, so if you end up not liking them, youre out that dough.


(if you have the dyson) pick a damage type, load it up with a dual heavy cannon, a dual beam bank, and a torp up front, with 3 turrets in the back.


also, when youre in system or sector space, look on your HUD for your weapons box thingy. right click each of your weapons so they have a green outline. your weapons will now AUTO FIRE and you dont have to mash space bar.


if you want to stick with the intrepid though, i have alot of recomendations just based on what youve shown me.

Okay, I purchased the 3 pack of Advance Dyson ships;

The Advanced Dyson Reconnaissance Science Destroyer (Which I just assigned the bride officers) :-)

The Advanced Dyson Strategic Science Destroyer

The Advanced Dyson Surveillance Science Destroyer


So... the The Advanced Dyson Reconnaissance Science Destroyer now has empty consoles that need to be added:

4 Tactical consoles
4 Science consoles
2 Engineering Consoles
3 devices

I don't want to use my old sets from years ago.... so I'll have to figure out what specifically I am going to put in there... and how I'll afford it.
(I checked the Fleet Starbase... I'll be only able to afford a couple of these with the limited amount of dilithium and credits I have)

Plus I'll need new weapons too:
Four Fore weapons
Three Aft

Plus
Deflector
Secondary Deflector
Impulse Engine
Warp Engine
Shields

lets go with polaron if thats ok, great choice for this ship and protonic polarons are easy to get with minimal grinds. 


weapons front:
polaron dual beam bank
polaron dual heavy cannons
quantum torp/gravimetric photorp

weapons aft:
polaron turret
polaron turret
kinetic cutting beam/polaron turret

tactical consoles:
4x polaron consoles

science consoles for the time being:
3x special dyson consoles for the set bonus
1x flow caps console

engineering consoles:
neutronium alloy
RCS accelerator
FUTURE UPGRADE: fleet neutronium +trn and borg assimilated console

engine and deflector:
Jem hadar for the set 2 polaron boost OR solanae for the neat set 4 bonus.

shields:
Solanae

secondary deflector: HOPEFULLY you ground and got the solanae secondary deflector so you can slot that.

devices:
subspace field modulator (mission reward from devidian arc)
red matter capacitor if you got it, if not, whatever battery you want.
dueterium surplus (consumable from daily @ alhena system in Eta Eridani)

BO powers (train all to 9, obviously)

TAC ensign:
tactical team

TAC commander:
tac team, CRF, APB, APB

right click space weapons to enable auto fire.


this is a pretty standard easy to do build that im almost doing exactly with mine, and it parsed 4500 dps on ISE, which isnt bad. its not good, but its well above the limit for elite STFs.

this build is tailored in such a way that you wont lose any powers when you switch back and forth between science and tactical.

i  noticed you had a saurian  BOFF, does it have the EFFICIENT space trait? if so, you could slot that to get literally +1 to your E and A power levels.

Coincidentally, I already added the Fore weapons (which luckily) I had stored in my bank:

-Elacti Crescent Cannons MK XI [CrtD]x2 [Dmg} (Note: these are Polaron)

-Dual Phased Polaron Beam Bank MK XI [CrtD]x2

-Solanae Dual Heavy Polaron Cannons [Acc] [CrtH]x2

-Quantum Torpedo Launcher MX XI [Acc] [Dmg]x2

(I can upgrade these Fore weapons later)


Then I tried purchasing aft turrets from our Starbase requisitions and instead I get the message:
 Starbase needs re-provisioning.
Grr... can't even get a ship weapon for my main character. :-(
Hopefully, this can be resolved soon.
So for now... stock gear that came with the ship for Aft.

For now, I transferred over some of my Borg gear until I can replace them... just so that I can have some speed and protection.

I already have gravity well in use.

Here's a couple screen shots for some other info.... (& I still need to rename the ship at some point too)

borg set 2 is VERY good, so thats not really a problem for now. 


go for white gear off the exchange bc it isnt bind on equip.

3x white polaron turrets and 4x white polaron consoles and a polaron dual heavy cannon will relaly increase your damage from what you have now, and will cost a pittance.

Based on your suggestions, here's what I have / am planning for the Dyson Gravweller Forward DPS build:

I still need the Borg module (currently a 3rd Plasma Infuser), and I need to buy the Fleet Dual Heavy Plasma Cannons and 2 Plasma Turrets.

Note that the Tactical Commander skill not shown is Cannon Scatter Volley.

Any additional suggestions would be appreciated. I.E. should I keep the other plasma infuser and move the Borg Assimilated Module to replace one of the Science ones? What upgrades to the remaining science consoles would be recommended?

For duty officers I got 3 green DCEs, a green Gravimetric Scientist, and a purple Development Lab Scientist.

By the way, I got 2nd place on an Elite CE event, so your efforts to help are definitely bearing fruit!

NICE! second place! pretty soon you could be snagging first! its a great way to farm gear to sell for EC, dilithium AND fleet marks.

this looks really good, i'll offer some avenues, of thought, which may or may not have occurred to you.


for max PVE damage you might want an attack pattern Beta.
if you decide to go this route, you can take 2 points out of your weapons performance admiral skill and rank the attack patterns skill up to 6.

try attack pattern beta as your commander skill, and have CSV as your LT and CMDR so you can max your upttime of that skill. move tactical team to ensign so you can have 2 CSV. TT2 doesnt offer enough benefit over TT1.


since you are specced into flow caps, why not swap Sci team for tachyon beam? 
 

move the borg console up to science and remove the dyson shield refrequencer. IMO it doesnt proc that often to be worth it


possibly put some points into COMBAT armor to make ground a little easier to tank when your shield goes down

looks good tho, man. you can kick some butt in this ship, for sure.


Instead of that development lab scientist you should grind to get this guy

Hmm... you said use both scatter volley and attack pattern beta in the Commander slot...

Did you mean use Attack Pattern Beta II as Lt Cmdr skill? That would replace Cannon Rapid Fire... I think that's a better skill than scatter volley as it maximizes DPS on the one you're directly facing and targeting. What do you think about:

typo. meant to type ltcmdr and lt for CSV. sorry.

you could EITHER have APB as cmdr, or a cannon skill.

the thing about csv vs crf is just aoe vs single target damage. you shouldnt mix them per se, as they are for slightly different builds. since you are grav welling, CSV is proabbly the better choice, as you will almost always have enemies grouped to take advantage of AOE powers. that being said, torp spread might be a little better than HY for this, but the difference wont be that noticeable.

now if you were going pvp, id say drop HY and go for BO, as dropping shields is the emphasis in this game.

if you can, try to get APB as cmdr for max damage, with csv or crf as your lt and ltcmdr. 

that way when you are in science mode you will be focusing on debuffs and wont miss the damage buff from beta, but still be able to keep your cannons spitting. 

if not APB is fine as a ltcmdr skill. still will boost you alot, provided you put points into Attack Patterns skill.

I suppose I could do that and then have the double CRF on a different Tactical officer.

Otherwise I don't agree that mixing them is necessarily bad, because you could be in a mission where there's lots of little guys, sure, but think about Infected, where the only time that happens is when you blow the Generators and all the spheres come out en masse. Having one of each allows you to switch your method of attack on the fly and not waste all your CSV on one target, i.e. Transformer, Cube, Tactical Cube, Gateway, etc.

If you're really good and quick, I guess you can even change BOs on the fly between groups of enemies, when you're not in active combat.
