Thought I'd open this up for the RP.
I have used the RP Star Date Calculator to ascertain the various dates in Jureth's opening post.
the Alsea arrived 88694.5 = Sept. 11, 2411 @ 11:49:12;
72 hours later - 0500 hrs = 88701.94 - Sept. 14.
Jureth fired up the bridge computers at approximately 0735 hrs, Sept 14. = 88702.24
Add more calculations if you desire
Just to be clear in my mind, I will have Rogers posting a prelude up to 0735 hours on Sept. 14, then add a little for the Alsea alert and shields status parts.
Re: Men Of Good Conscience OOC
Thank you for starting this up, Sir.
I will let everyone a chance to put in a personal vignette related to this event and/or timeframe before implementing a post where the captains will be invited to a highly classified meeting.
The ''non-invited personnel'' (Rogers and Sorripto) may do a joint post about their own feelings, suspicions, ideas about it all if so wished, to which the captain players could be invited to join as an NPC officer to this ''lower decks'' discussion if so desired (i.e. Redding could chime in with Commander Redding, Jureth with Catherine Steele etc)
The adventure has begun!

Re: Men Of Good Conscience OOC
The starting point of the adventure ( ''Call of Duty'') first only involve the captain players. However, all the non captain players are free to make a parallel post (and hopefully will) about what is going on on the station and ships while no one knows what is going on yet everyone knows something is going on.
Captain players may wish to engage with you in this parallel post as musch as you amy wish to play with as many people as possible. Please list them as authors so that they can use either a lower-ranked PC or an NPC of their chosing to interact with you. I myself could use Jonathan X. Livingstone to share play with you if you so wish.
Soon enough, you will join our captains when they will decide to make their move; because they will need you to pull it off for sure.
It has begun!

Re: Men Of Good Conscience OOC
I added my brief thread/intro with Syntron and bridge crew on the Phoenix. I just needed some sort of jumping off point for the character.
Previously we had others playing roles, (first officer, ChEng, CMO, etc...) but I didn't want to assume anything and add any of them into the post. Anyone previously associated with the Phoenix is welcome to jump in... including whatever communication brings Syntron to the meeting table/room in the Starbase.

added to the jump off post. I anticipate a conversation between Samji and Jureth at some point...but I think both officers are smart enough to know the war room is not the place for it.

Just a quick correction on my first post, as I had the Horizon in dock. Swapped her out for the Aurora instead.

Re: Men Of Good Conscience OOC
The Horizon only goes into inner dock if really necessary (i.e. major damage, refit). Routinely she docks at an external pylon or simply orbits the station.
This is because of her size and also because of her captain. Kheren once shot out of the Starbase at full impulse (150,000 km a second!) because of a dire emergency (at the start of Operation Horizon to stop an incoming Romulan Scimitar) and although cleared of all charges in a court martial afterwards, he still was berated for it. Since then, he prefers putting the flagship where it can respond without causing a fuss

Re: Men Of Good Conscience OOC
Just FYI..
I am TRYING to psyc myself up to get back into this but I'm not sure I can.
I've been fairly demoralized by all forms of entertainment as well as politics.
that and the distractions of a 3 yo kid, a young wife and covid affected work policies are kind of dragging me down.
Basically I'm a bitter shell of a man these days and everything I do just annoys me.
So I'll add where I can but don't rely on me and maybe I'll shake all this off in the near future.
For note: I love my life, my wife and my kid, it's everything else I just want to strangle.
And thanks to you guys for still being here, despite all the crap they have done to Star Trek we are still here.
And that gives me hope.

My mother has Covid, my parents are extremely at the opposite end of the political spectrum as I am, and my work continues to cripple us with restrictions and new regulations. I also hate most of what Star Trek has produced in the past few years and am sick of being called a bigot, sexist, or racist every time I don't like something. I fully understand wanting to strangle the world. The key is to find the happiness when you can and go from there. Look at how this merry band of nerds continues to be involved despite all the crap. No one will blame or judge anything, so just go for it and if you play more often than you thought you would then double win for us.

And if you can't find it within yourself to stand up and tell the truth about what happened, you don't deserve to wear that uniform! " - Captain Picard from TNG Episode 'The First Duty'
