Success!
I deliberately created the situation to be confusing. Jeff has almost found out.
Here is the answer. The communications from the alien ship are not coming through the comm channels. They are telepathic.
Since his transmutation as an Undine a while back, Kheren which already scored lowest on Starfleet Psi tests, is now utterly ''brain dead'' to psionic energies. No telepath can find his mind nor he get anything from them.
Hence he alone ''hears'' nothing... and it also means the aliens will be unaware of his presence if they have no other sense available to perceive him.
If I confused you gentlemen, so will the reader be. Goal achieved

Ah... that makes sense now. It was why I was thinking of the Talosians because they could not only communicate telepathically but could generate hallucinations and illusions within their recipient's mind.
Now we need our bridge crew to begin to piece together this aspect of the events transpiring... then figure out what to do next.

Brain damaged
Hay! good news! I had brain damage!
I'm exaggerating but only a little.
Turns out I had nerve in my neck that was effecting my short term memory and made it easy for me to get confused.
I literally could NOT remember 3 number sequences seconds later and left me with a lot of self doubt.
One *Snap* of the neck later and I can remember phone numbers again.
Looking forward to trying my hand at writing again.
This little note here was very encouraging! I only had to spell check 3 words!

This is at the same time terrible news and great news!
It's terrible you were afflicted as such; but great you have been freed of it!
Congratulations for your recovery and looking forward to your better self!

Re: Men Of Good Conscience OOC
A battle of the holographic warriors? Interesting proposition. Who is going to initiate this formidable confrontation?
Will Redding be jumping into the story as his holographic counterpart? I would assume that Kheren will handle the Khan role with dastardly finesse.
If so... let's get this clash of titans underway asap.

Well the opportunity will be there for Redding.
BTW the confrontation was initiated a good while ago in aprevious USS Horizon story (The Forgotten). We're going to see where it is now...

Re: Men Of Good Conscience OOC
I'm not sure, catching up to you guys in just sheer reading is a daunting task.
And Kheren played Holo-Commodore Redding last time FYI. (Is he back? I really need to catch up)
Plus the fact I STILL can't seem to get an unscrambled edit page half the time and the spell check doesn't work.
But I'm working on it.

Re: Men Of Good Conscience OOC
Would be great to have you profit from this opportunity (just the first one I have in mind). At the speed we are currently posting, you actually may have enough time to resolve your issues.
If you can't catch up with the current story, it will have no real incidence upon you playing Holo-Redding. As a matter-of-fact, it may even be better, as the hologram, caught in his never-ending fight with holo-Khan, will certainly not be aware of anything that transpired outside of the ''ship-of-the-damned.'' Should ease your roleplay if you can manage to join.
There is also the option of you sending me your post through a PM and I can publish it for you. Or us working a scene together through such PMs.
And as I said, if you can't avail yourself of this opportunity, another one is coming with the Captain of the Horizon... And Captain Gould could still show up...
Anything we can do to help, just ask.
