I wish to apologize for my lack of activity lately ... RL issues cropped up.
On a brighter note though, my Mother now has a Pacemaker.
As to this current story, where do I find the Achilles in past RP? I would like some indication as to her capabilities vis-a-vis say, compared to the Enterprise D say? I have the D tech manual, so I could deduce upgrades comparable to canon Trek. Thanks in advance.
Re: Men Of Good Conscience OOC
Best wishes for your mother's good health.
Regarding the USS Achilles, you can find here the 2 stories where it appears in our RP:
viewtopic.php?f=22&t=101
The first one is the USS Artemis story ''I Alone Survived''
The second one is the USS Horizon story ''The Forgotten''
Specs of the Achilles class siege destroyer can be found on various sites on the webz

Useful information. Thanks Kheren!
So... in what manner are we going to kick-off the engagement with USS Achilles and its maniacal abductor? We seem somewhat poised for action but haven't leapt off of the perch yet.

Re: Men Of Good Conscience OOC
I leave the action to you gentlemen although I will play as the Achilles (and Khan if channels are open) and if relevant.
We have several possibilities:
- The No-Redding approach: The intensity of the fight will drop the Achilles shields long enough for transport (then seal off our two boarders for their part and where Redding could get involved later on.) Would make for a longer but intense space battle as wished, as the Alsea tries only to bring the Achilles shields down while Khan tries to simply destroy them. This should optionally result in the Achilles having barely enough torpedoes for the hunt and the Alsea damaged and thus in dire straights when facing the planet-killers afterwards (still more tension hehe).
- The part-Redding approach; while the battle rages, Syntron receives an answer and manages to drop the shields with the prefix code (or the shield frequency) long enough for transport. Then a ''computer battle'' may be added to the space fight as Syntron battles Khan for control of the Achilles from his end while our boarders do their part on the other end (with the possible help of Holo-Redding). This can be done with or without Redding involved ( but better if he is). Can be combined with above.
- The full Redding approach: direct involvement of our player in providing access to the ship (as above) then helping battling Khan inside the ship and then he taking command of the conquered warship with Rogers as engineer (to make the Har'Peng Torpedoes conversion) and Kheren as tactical and pilot (a la Chekov). Would include the comm scene for boarding.
Other ideas welcome. Your move gentlemen.

Re: Men Of Good Conscience OOC
With Sorripto targeting his antimatter barrage, especially if the ship is split into three vectors, allows time for the distractions and reduces the initial shield integrity of the Achilles. Redding would then be able to transmit the current prefix code and the shields are lowered further, allowing the transport of the away team before the shields are slightly increased again.
The idea of a three-front battle, internally within the Achilles and externally with the multivector segments physically challenging the vessel while the Vulcan engages in a computer battle, seems intriguing. This all could lead to the scenerio presented in the third option.
Perhaps the Iconians, utilizing their technological advances, could also be involved in some aspect of this encounter as they strive towards the common goal of regaining control of the Achilles.

Re: Men Of Good Conscience OOC
Data and logical deductions from your scanners and from your Vulcan mind:
The Iconians are quite passive as far as confrontation is concerned. They actually don't engage in such unless directly attacked.
They also lack actual destructive weaponry; they only manage to use their tractor beams in an offensive manner to disable opponents. Hence why they did not themselves stop the planet-killers (or destroy the Alsea on the first encounter) and rely entirely on us violent child-races to do so.
If you want them to get involved, you will have to ask them and literally tell them what to do... if you manage to convince them to intervene in OUR scheme against OURSELVES (they see the Achilles as one of us).
The best they might be offering is to be lure/target to the massive firepower of the siege destroyer under the command of a mad genius conqueror.
But...
Recall that the Iconian ship has no shields. It has formidable defenses alright... (they can actually even wisthand the planet-killers' anti-proton beam) but not against everything. The Iconian ship, protecting itself only with energy-absorption panels, is thus totally defenseless against transporters (who can lock behind the panels, inside the ship).
You can deduce what merciless, devious, highly intelligent Khan could do knowing this (and you can logically assume that indeed he KNOWS this).

Re: Men Of Good Conscience OOC
I think I'll bow out from playing Holo-Redding, I just feel like I can't get into his head if you get my meaning.
To any questions about why he's still there, what he can do, whats his relationship with Khan.. ect.. ect..
I'm okay with Kheren continuing to play him for this if he wants, it's just not my character anymore.
He's not 'ME'

Re: Men Of Good Conscience OOC
As you wish my friend.
Basically, I see him as a Khan ''good guy'' counterpart just like the Lazarus dual-characters in TOS The Alternative Factor; although more complex and nuanced as Khan himself is a complex, nuanced antagonist (and so isd the ''original template'' of Holo-Redding )
They are basically in the same situation story-wise as the 2 characters in this episode, so I will play them accordingly if that is okay with you.
As for your own RP, you still have several choices left:
- Captain Neil Redding coming to help with the Horizon; after a proper confrontation of course.
- Admiral Neil Redding taking over command of the task force new flagship (the Horizon) and scene going much the same as above, albeit with the more seasonned version of your character.
- Captain V'Rell Gould assigned as the new task force commander and having forcibly requisitionned all the available ressources allocated to LF for this mission into giving back the USS Lotus it's quantum slipstream drive, assembling a crew (much less difficult on the Intrepid class than with the huge depleted flagship) and coming after the Alsea (since the Lotus is not disabled like the Horizon has been). Or he may have taken over temporary command over Redding because of seniority and exceptional situation (something akin to Run Silent Run Deep if you saw that movie, or STTMP, and want to play out this character conflict).
Or any other option you want to propose.
Thoughts?

Re: Men Of Good Conscience OOC
Love the holo-Redding idea, sounds tricky to implement without it ruining the tension.
Admiral Redding would never allow himself to be directly observed by SFC, his power mostly comes from the idea that he MUST be dead or Commander Redding would not be here.
He's essentially section 31 at this point, doesn't exist.
Gould will take command of the task force but he believes it would be better to prepare for war in the event the 'Renegades' fail in their mission.
So unless ordered other wise he will work to that end.
The only ship that CAN catch up with the renegades (And do anything about it) is the Horizon and in Gould's opinion, Commander Redding is still the best person for that job as bringing in yet another Captain would strain it's already shell shocked crew and he is well versed in the new ships functions.
That's my 2 cents.
