Well... with the next PHX ComiCon still many months away, I have a brief window of opportunity to submit ideas/suggestions for upcoming Star Trek panels this year.

If you were attending a Sci Fi convention this year, what Trek panels would you want to attend at a con?

I'm looking for topics rich in content, history, cannon, controversy, or whatever that could be engaging in a discussion and hopefully have a visual aspect to it as well.

So please.... reply with as many ideas as you can think off.... whether it is a simple title or more detailed.

One could hold a panel on the future of independent star trek works (either currently in production, or planned). The recent suit filed against Star Trek: Axanar by CBS/Paramount will definitely affect the future of independent non profit and/or crowdfunded star trek productions. It would be interesting to know the fans take of this development and the consensus toward if the fan base would be willing to boycott all CBS/Paramount content in the future, whether or not it be Star Trek related or no.

Well... this con is now only two weeks away. At this point I am co-presenting only 3 panels, 2 of which I will be joined by Larry Nemecek (Star Trek Continues, Trekland, etc...) who joined me last year in my Leonard Nimoy tribute panel.

My other partner is my friend Dave who is an Associate Research Professor - School of Earth & Space Exploration, Arizona State University. He and I have been Trek partners at this convention over the past years and he is associated with the oldest continuing Trek organization in AZ... which is actually where I first met him and other local Trekers many years ago.

Our friend Cat Roberts (Lt Palmer STC) will also be presenting this year. She is very sweet and we spent lots of time with her at various panels last year.

Other Star Trek alumni that will be joining us include Gates McFadden (Dr Bevery Crusher: TNG) and Robert Beltran (Commander Chakotay: VOY)

Ironically, there are less Star Trek panels this year then previous years... with this being the 50th anniversary of Star Trek.
