Rest in Peace Mister Spock....we certainly will miss that one of a kind person and voice behind a one of a kind character.

I literally cried for a half hour today when I found out......didnt think I would ever be as affected by the death of an actor like I was when Harold Ramis passed away until today :*(

Re: Leonard Nimoy death just announced
Today is such a sad day, but unfortunately, inevitable. Mr. Nimoy, and even the character of Spock that he portrayed in Star Trek, was only mortal. As sad as his passing is, we can look back and smile at what this humble, unassuming man has accomplished in his lifetime. Because of what Mr. Nimoy did, hundreds of thousands of people across the world were inspired in so many different ways, be it in the sciences, mathematics, physics, engineering, or in the arts to become an actor, musician, poet, writer, etc. You might be thinking, "It was just a TV show you NERDS! Get a life!" and that is your right. But the fact that this is science fiction makes no difference as it engaged the minds and imaginations of so many people.
I had the privilege of meeting Leonard Nimoy on a few occasions, had my photo taken with him, shake his hand, and was able to hear him speak. I feel privileged to have met him and will cherish the memories that I have. Of course, I can always pull up an episode or movie of Star Trek and remember. In a way, Leonard Nimoy's legacy lives on just as DeForest Kelley and James Doohan's has.
I would like to point out that Leonard Nimoy is not lost, friends. It does not matter if you have faith or not; Leonard Nimoy did. I, quite frankly, look forward to seeing him again someday.

This is where the quote under my sig here makes all the more sense to me.
Live long and prosper Mr Nimoy.

Re: Leonard Nimoy death just announced
I have admired Mr. Nimoy since I first saw him in September, 1966. Although he had acted in other thing's before "The man Trap", his character Spock inspired me in model rocketry, and beyond through my continuing childhood and younger life.
Today we mourn his passing, but more importantly, we honor his legacy.

Re: Leonard Nimoy death just announced
Not to harp on my personal life too much, but this week was just...bad. Monday I fell off my bike, Thursday my bike just died, and Friday not only did Leonard Nimoy die, but I also got rejected by the one girl that I have extremely strong feelings for.... So, not a good week. But, I'm happy that Mr. Nimoy spent the time on Earth that he did, as he has brought myself to the entire Star Trek community, and has made me remember that we are here trying to work towards a better future. We will all miss him, of course. I'm sure he's sitting back with Bone, Scotty, Gene, and Majel, just talking about what he's done, and sharing a drink.

Re: Leonard Nimoy death just announced
StarTrek.com added a series of tributes, articles and such about Leonard Nimoy to their website news section.
http://www.startrek.com/news_articles
The Sunday Morning show on CBS among their other features, did a nice tribute this morning to Leonard and even ended the hour and half show with the TOS theme song. It was a nice touch.
I just wish I had footage from when I met him and William Shatner in Philadelphia at a convention in 1992. They were both so interesting, playful, informative and gregarious. It was the only time I met either of these gentleman in person.

Perhaps we can add tributes for Leonard Nimoy/Spock that we find online here as our own little tribute.
