Jeffery says in this interview that he didnt get or like Star Trek until he could change it to be liked by people like him....

I honestly didn't think I could dislike him more...but somehow he makes it easier to achieve that next level.  Soon he will replace Ewe Boll.

And please note how he defined Trek fans as "a lot smarter than he is" and then speak of making it as a movie for "people like him..."

That says it all... and from the horse's mouth no less!

We can also hear how well he does understand Star Wars however...

May the Force be with us and we see him move over to SW and finally leaves ST alone... so that Trek may again live long and prosper.

I liked how Jon Stewart inserted a little jab in there in response to saying he didn't like Star Trek. As a true Star Trek fan and sci-fi geek in general, Jon Stewart may admittedly like Star Wars better, but shows to us how he understands the hypocrisy there while not seeming overly critical of his guest.

I'd missed that Ev - you got me to rewatch it.  I think I was just starting to get into the same mindset as the Transfomers Brovies got me into.  Frothing at the mouth a bit much for my own good :P

You might have noticed that the writers of Nu-Trek are the same as those who gave us the Bayformers btw.

Abrams is not the only one at fault... in fact Orci & Kurtzman are much more to blame for the retarded botched parody of Trek they wrote in 2009. The next one will apparently avoid so many idiocies by making the whole story just a long running, jumping, mindless slugfest.

But we'll see...

To summ it all up: he's just a marketing salesman good at exploiting an idea and thinking the audience is always below 12 years old.
