I bought TOS bundle and uniforms and I got a class F shuttle with it. I dont have the coins left to grab extra ship slots right now so Im wondering if the shuttle is better than my Miranda starting vessel.
In a logical world this wouldnt even be a question but this is an MMO so... yea..

Re: Ship question
And, as shuttle goes, you will be eventually able to craft for yourself the Delta Flyer (there is a mission to gain the blueprint to do that) which is one if not the top shuttlecraft available; at least, it works perfectly well in the few shuttle missions out there (in the Romulan and Dominion series).
The class F is cute for nostalgia's sake or for any "time story roleplay" but it is still a basic shuttle; gamewise, the same thing as the basic class 8 you get freely in the game.

Re: Ship question
The Delta is a c store item according to the Wiki as of season 5 the quest chain is obsolete :/
It is a bit better than the F
1k more hull
+1 Ensign Sci officer
+2 turn rate
+.04 Impulse modifier
All in all its really close and I'm fond enough of TOS that I doubt Ill ever buy a Delta. :D

Re: Ship question
I did The Vault with a class 8 without problem so I guess the F should do fine also. It was a bit tougher with the Jem'Hadar series in a Delta Flyer but not sure a Class 8 (or F) would have done all that worse if properly equipped (like with the Aegis set and purple gear).
Like many things in STO, unless you PvP (in a shuttle... hehe) the little fractions of stats will not make much difference so, again as i said before, go with your heart and have fun!

Re: Ship question
I prefer a Danube runabout for The Vault and Dominion series mission myself...more durable than a shuttle and packs more of a punch.

Re: Ship question
Same. Thats why its F all the way for me. 2 360 turrets and the right consoles make short work of just about anything. If Im hunting larger ships I use a topredo for the kinetic damage.
I just about died laughing when I used transwarp in my shuttle. I had to do it again to get an image of the Type F jumping to warp it was just way too silly.

Re: Ship question
The original Enterprise is a great starter ship. As for the shuttles there are so many others out there I have actually never used my original shuttle at all. I still use my delta flyer that I crafted the old fashion way.
