Well now it's official.

Alex Kurtzman will still be helming Star Trek until 2026.

CBS renewed his Les Moonves contract and upgraded it by 3 more years and from 30 to some 150 millions. Allegedly he managed to get Playmate Toys to pick up merchandizing.

DIS season 4 has been wrapped up (although rumor has it it was shortened in half for the second half to become season 5 because of overbudget... as usual);

Picard season 2 is in production.

Strange New Worlds also has completed filming (allegedly with much conflict seeing Kurtzman ousting Akiva Goldsman).

Lower Decks season 2 is about to air as well as Prodigy, the animated show aimed at kids ( but on Paramount + first, not Nickelodeon even if it is a Nickelodeon show).

Once again there is talk (from Secret Hideout, not CBS) about a Section 31 show still with Michelle Yeoh (clue about some... foreign investment caring for something else than profit? Rumors again)

Once again there is talk about Star Trek 4 of the Kelvin universe (but from Bad Robot, not Paramount) but no one attached to it yet.

Paramount+ in desperate need of content wants to have one new Trek show out every year. For streaming of course, since broadcasting of Kurtzmantrek proved a dismal failure.

And CBS AllAccess is officially dead. So is Clarisse, the non Trek show also helmed by Kurtzman. Makes it the 5th franchise he destroyed.

I am starting to realize that I may be living in the Mirror Universe. or is it Bizarro World?

Oh... this is all terrible news!

Five more years of destroying a legacy... and on the fifty-fifth year since it all began. There must be some sort of numerology twist in this nightmare.

Maybe we need to send a copy of Aesop's fables  "The Goose that Laid the Golden Eggs" to CBS/Paramount to see if they can somehow recognize a parallel between this and and what they have been doing to Star Trek.

The only thing I enjoyed about either show were the cameos on Picard ( for Nostalgia purposes only ) otherwise total and utter crap, that is all nothing more to say on the matter as you all have covered it more elegantly than I ever could ;)

And to think Sir Patrick is as responsible for this crap as Kurtzman, Moonves and Abrams...

HE wanted his show to be like this. This 3rd season is exactly what he said he didn't want; being in any manner shape or form related to TNG and having the others back. They obviously rammed it down his throat because the first two were such abysmal failures.

You can already feel in the trailer that there is no joy at all in this forced reunion.

I have no hope at all for this except for it to end quickly.

Same Admiral, same. I just cant get my head around wanting the show to be the way it is and not wanting any of the original cast back to be a part of the show, I don't know maybe its because I can not get my head that far up my rear!
