Mission Title
- Indigenous Entanglements
Mission Overview
- While further exploring uncharted regions of the universe beyond the Azimuth Horizon Anomaly, the USS Phoenix discovers a large moon in orbit of a gas giant in a habitable zone of a trinary star system. This large rocky exoplanet is somewhat akin to a super-earth in size. It is a quizzically unusual anomaly of a planet existing in the calm eye of hurricane-like conditions with all of the intense gravitational forces surrounding it.
The USS Phoenix sets out to discover how this planet appears to achieve stability within such turbulent conditions. First from obit... then with away teams. But as in many situations, expect the unexpected.
Requirements
Type of Ship
- Any ship that has strong defensive capabilities and the ability to conduct extensive research
Mission Objectives
- Primary:
-Assemble crew and head beyond the anomaly
-Discovery of mysterious planet in other universe
-Analysis of planetary system from ship and probes
-Landing party exploration of terrain
-Resolving conflicts that arise during extensive exploration without violating general orders
Secondary:
-Make discoveries in various departments
-Implement new procedures or modifications to systems
Story Acts
Act 1
- The crew of the USS Phoenix reconvenes for its next mission of continuing with exploration of the other universe beyond the null zone. Some crew changes for this mission have to be addressed before departure.
Act 2
- Arriving into the other Universe, the Phoenix eventually encounters the Draxx Garawl, Beta of his Pack who wants to shadow their exploration of the region for a period of time. There is a bit of negotiation that occurs to ensure that this isn't going to be a case of Draxx interference or overseeing of their mission.
Act 3
- After a period of non descriptive mapping and cataloging, they come upon an unusual trinary star system. They continue with their sensor analysis of the area, the stars and the planets with shuttles and probes in addition to the enhanced sensors within the Phoenix. Continuing through the system they come upon a moon of large gas giant that is terrestrial in nature. From orbit, they register a series of life forms, including those that seem like hominids; more specifically akin to Neanderthals.
Act 4
- Act 4: Landing parties are assembled and dressed to more primitive standards, so as not to contaminate the development of or create fear in these life forms as the away teams study groups or societies remotely without interference. Others teams sent are planetary geologists, biochemists and other specialists. There is much to be learned there, so the away teams are divided and scattered to different geologic and geographic regions of the large planet.
All goes accordingly until several anthropologists and archaeologists on one away team are captured by skillful hunters of a tribe. They are perceived as a threat by the leadership and are being prepared to be executed. Non-interference prevents simple extraction of these prisoners.
