Assignment: This mission could be available for any ship; given that there will likely be research and investigation aspects in addition to potential conflict/combat.
In fact, research and investigation will be key throughout the mission.
Summary: While enroute to an incident near the Klingon border, a distress call is receive from an unidentified ship.
Apparently members of their crew are apparently experiencing some type of unusual biological phenomenon that they cannot determine the origin of nor resolve; yet is deemed fatal if not counteracted.
The Captain is thereby caught in a dilemma after arriving to aid the ship: will the Captain disobey orders and stay to attend to the stricken crew of this alien ship and risk contamination of his own crew or proceed on as ordered to assist other ships in the fleet as they try to untangle the disarray and conflict occurring near the Klingon border.
Note: I have additional details which would be revealed to specific characters as the story progresses.
Mission Objectives:
- Meet up with the alien vessel sending out the distress call.
- Determine a way to safely examine the affected crew without contaminating/endangering the crew of your ship
- Will you stay and help the sickly crew or proceed on to the Klingon Border?
- If you go to the border, how will you deal with the Klingon ships involved? If you leave, then what then happens to the crew of the alien vessel?
- Your actions… whatever they will be… will likely have repercussions.
