Solstice's Last Hour
by David Jellico

This mission deals with the search and rescue of the crew of the USS Solstice which has been trapped inside a strong ion storm.

The Nova- class ship was conducting a scientific research inside the Copparan Nebula, studying the changing nature of its electromagnetic emissions. After several weeks inside the nebula and a huge amount of non-conclusive analysis, the ship was caught by surprise by the formation of a string ion storm that damaged several of its systems.

Main propulsion and life support were the first systems to fall and several crewmembers died due to the initial shockwave produced by the storm. Later other systems were gradually falling and the ship is unable to escape the storm. The survivors were only able to send a distress call that is caught by the nearby player´s ship

Their mission will be to locate the Solstice (something not quite easy due to the interference caused by the storm) and rescue the ship or their crew. Unfortunately in order to do the latter they will have to enter themselves the storm and cope with it. As transporters are unusable inside the storm, the players will have to find another way to reach the survivors.

This adventure is perfect for engineers and scientific characters as they have to deal with the problems caused by the storm. A clever Flight Control officer will also be useful. Security crewmen will work as firefighters and will be the first to enter the chaos inside the ship.

This mission allows for great dramatic moments in which characters can show themselves by performing great acts of heroism. Some of the players can get wounded to add more emotion to the adventure. In essence a great opportunity for great roleplaying.

Romulan Paradox
by Drakxii

A group of angry Romulans that are angered over the destruction of their home planet have been working hard on time travel to fix it. A small group of them blame the feds for the destruction and when the their machine is nearly complete they take over the base. Instead of going back to months before the the destruction they go all the way to the start of the Earth-Romulan war determined to destroy earth.

Any of the ship could be used for this mission. How the set up would run is that during a normal patrol of the neutral zone they get a burst of energy from a dense nebula. As they enter the nebula they find an area inside that has been temporal shielded. A few minutes after they enter the shielding they would communication with the feds and only get Romulan traffic. On the station they would find mostly dead Romulans maybe one alive and wounded and search threw the station's computer would show where the D'deridex-class ship when in time.

Now assuming that the ship goes back in time after them they are left with a decision to make. They know they need to stop the D'deridex-class ship but they have to decide how much help they can give the feds without ruining the time line.

This mission is applicable for any ship and any crew. Due to the free-form nature of it, it would probably be best suited to a crew confident in their ability to carry on an interesting story without neccessarily continuous involvement of the RP Admin or direct control of the Captain.

Mission:

You ship receives a transmission from Lotus Fleet Command. Apparently a group of Federation colonists in the Anari system are calling for assistance. There has never been an issue with this particular system as it's been colonized for quite some time and lies in the heart of Federation territory, so it managed to survive the major conflicts of the past few years.

Upon arrival at Anari Prime, the inabited world in the system, the crew realizes why the call was made.

After the Borg's defeat in the War of 1,000 cubes, one of the cubes crash landed on Anari Prime's surface, leaving the surviving inhabitants to fend for themselves newly separated from the Collective.

The colonists see this growing Borg settlement as a threat to their survival. However the Borg have made no hostile motions and, in fact, have been working to move more comfortably into their newfound sentience, even going so far as to attempt a truce with the colonists.

The colonists are steadfast in their wanting the destruction of the newly growing Borg colony and will not entertain any other options at this time. You also know of the history of the Borg and their ability to re-grow themselves from very little.

It is up to you and your crew to determine what will eventually be the fate of the inhabitants of Antari Prime, both Federation and Borg.

Note:

This is an idea that I believe will serve to not only provide the RP with a far more diplomatic and (hopefully ;) ) non-violent scenario, but builds off of what the state of the LF-timeline Federation is after the War. Of course, who's to say there's not ulterior motives on either side? That, as always, is up to the crew to figure out.

Note: that this mission can be done by any ship within Lotus Fleet Rp.

Opening Act (Act 1):

Your starship, either launches from Starbase 10, or is already on the patrol mission. If it launches from Starbase 10, it will then begin the story for setting a course for the first waypoint to begin the patrol mission. If it is already on the patrol mission, it will start the story, by reaching your first waypoint and beginning on patrol mission.

The assigned patrol mission, will take your ship through space near the Hromi Cluster and will end near the space between the Briar Patch and the Klingon Border. The goal of the patrol, is to patrol Federation space and the far edges of Klingon space. You are told, “do not enter Klingon space under any reason.” While on the mission, things well go normally, there will be nothing out of the ordinary. About midway through the patrol rout, your Science officer will detect a strange anomaly, an anomaly, that doesn’t match anything in your records/database, and something that should not be there. You will order you ship it investigate. Note this anomaly will be in Federation space. Once in the region of space, where the anomaly is, your science officer will be unsure, what you have found. The closest thing your science officer can determine is, it is some sort of subspace anomaly or rupture. They will suggest that you move in closer for further scans, and you will agree. As your ship moves closer, you helm officer will notice it is more and more difficult to maneuver. Your concerns will mount till you decide to back off from the anomaly. When you give that order, your Helm officer will inform you, that the helm is not responding, and your ship is now heading closer and closer to the anomaly. You attempt to brake lose, however it will fail and you will fall into the anomaly.

Middle Act (Act 2)

You and your crew, come to, and realized that your ship has been pulled through the anomaly. Your science officer checks their instruments and discovers that you have moved through space. They theorized that the anomaly was some sort of wormhole, or another type of anomaly that could transport a ship. You will then detect a nearby Federation ship, and you decided to set a course to meet up with it. Your ship will now come to a binary star system with 9 planets. The 6th planet will have an asteroid field, and is where the Federation ship is located. As your ship approaches the 6th planet, you will be hailed by the starship, which is an Excelsior class. A man will appear on your screen and will begin to talk to you. He will think that you are a new class of starship, here for testing.
You will learn that you are in fact in the Mirror Universe and have traveled back in time, the Terran Empire is in decline, as the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance is winning their war with the Empire. (This time era, is after the TOS episode and before the DS9 episodes, about the Mirror Universe.) The Terran Empire has built a new class of warship, that will succeed in wiping out the Alliance forces, and issue in a new age for the Empire. You have stumbled into the testing grounds for the new warship, and the Excelsior class starship that you have encounter, believes you to be that new warship. Your science officer will suggest that it was an interphasic rift, that your ship has been through (ie the rift that the Defiant went through, in TOS and ENT).

In order to avoid a fight, you play along, so you could by time and figure a way out of this mess. Your crew will figure out a way to get back to your Universe and time, while you order the ship to go through the Empires tests. The test well be mostly a shakedown cruise while testing all systems. Some test, would include, weapons test / shoot and destroy targets, shields test / get shot at for x amount of time, maneuvering test / maneuver through checkpoints in x amount of time, (and anything else you can think of. This could be idea to set the tests for what your ship is idea for.) Over all, you will pass every test that the Empire gives you and are praised. You are given on last test, you are ordered to destroy an Alliance base nearby. But before you could say yes, or no, or even set a course away, another ship enters the system, this time an Ambassador class.

Act 3

You will learn that the Ambassador class is the new warship the Empire has created, and you will be confronted. A battle will ensue, and you can either destroy the two Imperial ships, or disable them. Either way, Alliance ships will enter the system minutes after you disable the Ambassador class, and more Empire ships, and a three way battle will occur. In the end, the Empires new ship will be destroyed, and you will slip away and flee, as the battle continues. Your science officer, by now, has come up with a plan that will require you to return to the area where the anomaly left you. The plan is to use a Tachyon beam, or some other beam, to energize the anomaly so that you can return through it. This will be a long shot, however, you won’t have much of a choice. Once back, you begin to energize the anomaly to a point where you can see it once more. When you finish and are ready to enter the anomaly, 3 Terran ships enter the area, one being the Excelsior that you encountered before. There can either be a quick show down, where you disable the 3 ships, or you can go through the anomaly, without fighting. Either way, you travel through the anomaly, and back to your Universe and your own time. Once back to the Prime Universe, you can either continue your patrol mission, or cut it short, due to the experiences that has just occurred. The End.

Cruel Intent
by Evshell
Assignment: This mission is intended for a vessel that is capable of disabling or destroying several ships very quickly if the need arise. Namely, the McKenzie, the Alsea, or the Spectre with its combat modules.

Summary: With Chancellor J'mpok in power, the Klingons have been less and less inclined to respect the borders and have been sending raiding and scouting parties into the Federation-held parts of the Hormi Cluster and Pi Canis sector. Federation satellites have detected yet another presence of Klingon ships just across the Federation-Klingon border. Captain Ja'rod, son of Lursa, leads the contingent, along with an escort of several Birds of Prey. Your ship is dispatched to discover their intent and negotiate their retreat back to their territory.

Starbase 10, determining their likely intent, sends along Admiral Redding who has been entrusted with top secret information about the Azimuth Horizon. Upon arriving at the Klingons' position, the Admiral's information is verified as your ship detects that the Klingons have been conducting certain tests regarding the Azimuth Horizon anomaly.

Note: Please consult me for additional information about the tests which should be revealed later in the story.

Mission Objectives:
  • Find the Klingon ships, which will most likely be cloaked most of the time.
  • Attempt to determine which tests the Klingons are conducting upon the anomaly.
  • Confront Ja'rod and negotiate his retreat to the Klingon territory. If he refuses, find a way to threaten him into it.
  • If necessary: Destroy or disable the Klingon ships. Obviously this method will result in significant casualties and damage to / destruction of your ship and should be avoided at all costs.

Assignment: This mission is for the USS McKenzie.

Description: With the threat of the Horizon's Children becoming very real, Starfleet decides that they need more information. A skeleton crew from the USS McKenzie is selected to take temporary command of the Starscream, a heavily altered cargo vessel. They are given new backgrounds and names and told to infiltrate the last known position of the Horizon's Children.

Once there, the crew has to work to be accepted by group in order to gain access to their memory bank and return safely to Federation space with the information.

Mission Objectives:
  • Infiltrate the Horizon's Children
  • Gain access to the Horizon's Children's main computer or records, especially member rosters.
  • Return with the information to the Federation.
  • While infiltrated, the officers are expected to safeguard Federation lives and property to the best of their ability, however the information is ultimately more valuable in order to safeguard even more lives and prevent terrorist attacks like those on the Artemis.

The Forgotten by Athos

The Forgotten
by Athos

This mission is open to any starship, except for the USS Mackenzie; a Defiant-class simply would not have the cargo space needed for the supply mission to Cardassia, let alone the number of security personnel on-board to take the Dominon prison camp.

Synopsis:
As part of the relief and reconstruction effort of Cardassia Prime, a ship from Lotus Fleet has been assigned to deliver supplies, to include some industrial replicators, and install a new community replimat center in order to feed hundreds of Cardassians.

As the ship is traveling towards Cardassia Prime, it encounters a Dominion Probe. Analysis of the probe indicates that it came from the nearbye Amleth Nebula. The nebula is difficult to chart because it interferes with senors and blocks communication. Once the source is tracked down, you discover an active Dominion Prison Camp on an asteroid base and docked with the base is a Dominion Supply ship (can be an attack/bug ship).

Objectives of mission:
  1. Trace the probe's location.
  2. Get past the defenses of the Prison Camp (to include the supply ship)
  3. Defeat the Jem'Hadar garrison and the internal security net
  4. Rescue the prisoners
  5. Resume mission to Cardassia Prime

Departments needed for this mission:
  • Tactical & Security (ship combat + hand-to-hand against Jem'Hadar)
  • Medical (to treat the prisoners and casualties from the assault)
  • Science (to analyze and track down the origin point of the probe)
  • Engineering (to defeat the internal security grid of the prison camp)

Notes for the Captain:
  • Prisoners at the base include Klingons, Romulans, various Federation species, and most of the crew of the USS Proxima, a nebula-class starship, which went missing in 2373 during an exploratory mission to the Gamma Quadrant.
  • The supply-ship held vast supplies of ketrecel white which is how the Jem'Hadar have been able to survive. However, the supply has gotten low, hence the probe to find out what was going on.
  • This base was cut off and forgotten by the Dominion due to being in a nebula which limited sensors and communications.
  • DS9 is the closest starbase.

General info about the mission.

Mission Title

  • Honor Bound.

Mission Overview

  • *Note:* This mission is a direct expansion of the sub-plot story "Family Honor".

The crew must investigate the disappearance of the USS Diamond Star, sister ship to the USS Horizon. This is important not only to Star Fleet, but to Lotus Fleet in particular, as the Horizon is in jeopardy if the root cause of the Diamond Star theft is not understood and countered promptly.

Requirements

Type of Ship

  • Science/Explorer. Suggested RP ship would be the USS Lotus.

Mission Objectives

  • Primary mission parameter: Discover the unlawful use of the USS Diamond Star; How was it taken from Utopia Planitia?

Secondary Objectives: Who took it? Where did it go? Why was it returned?

Story Acts

Act 1
  • Mission orders given at Star Base Lotus by Admiral Kotari & Fleet Captain Samji, to Captain, USS Lotus. With Commander David Rogers assigned as chief engineering officer, proceed to Utopia Planitia and investigate the theft and subsequent return of the USS Diamond Star from Utopia Planitia, Mars.
At Utopia Planitia, examine the Diamond Star and ascertain any and all information regarding the means of how the ship was taken from the yards. Scientific and engineering analysis may determine clues on the hull of the ship leading to specific areas of space that the ship traveled into or through, as the interior was swept clean of all organic matter and the bio-neural gelpacks were also damaged and erased. Follow the clues.

Act 2

  • Travel to suggested sectors or systems suggested by the clues garnered from the forensic analysis of the Diamond Star. Routes are at discretion of Captain, but should be gleaned from the supposed pattern laid onto the hull, as determined by the scientific and engineering investigation's. Medical forensics may also be possible on the gelpacks.

Act 3

  • The ship will meet an Orion Syndicate antagonist in the last sector they travel to( preferably in the Kassae sector). This pirate will have a powerful (commandeered) ship, and wants something of importance from the UFP ship.

Act 4

  • Resolution of the mystery will reveal that David Rogers ""borrowed"" the Diamond Star to rescue his (long thought lost) sister from Orion slavers. But unknown to Commander Rogers, Shelly Rogers left her benefactors on Risa and returned to Syndicate space in order to extract her own revenge, while also trying to find who took her from the Orion's and put her in mortal danger from the Syndicate; because "No one leaves the syndicate".
The act may play out with Star Fleet repercussions toward Commander Rogers, with Commander Rogers leaving Star Fleet, or some other reprisals.

THIS MISSION HAS BEEN COMPLETED BY THE USS LOTUS UNDER THE TITLE: "THE SHADOW WITHIN THE LIGHT"
